RTTF Atal - Spend or Swerve
POSITIVES & NEGATIVES
Positives
-
Atal is a very well rounded and versatile card, he can play in a lot of different positions ranging from defence to attack depending on the chemistry style you choose to apply to him
-
Great pace, he feels very quick in game
-
Very responsive dribbling, he has great dribbling attributes and that accompanied with his Lean body type he dribbles really smoothly
-
He has a wide range of alternative positions he can play which makes squad building much easier
-
He has the outside foot shot trait which is good for those range long trivela shots
-
4* skill moves, this is nice to have for attacking players, and if you pair that with his great dribbling he is very effective in the final third
-
5* weak foot, this is vital to have if you want to utilise Atal on the left hand side of the pitch and this simply adds to his versatility
-
This is a ‘live card’ which means he can get future updates depending on how OGC Nice perform in the Europa Conference League
-
He is confirmed to be going to an 88 rated as OGC Nice have a bye to the next round of the Europa Conference League, which is a milestone for his live card to be updated
Negatives
-
I found when using him as a wingback he had some stamina issues, I had to take him off around the 70th minute
-
He is quite difficult to link due to his nation, this nation does not have a manager available in game so you’ll likely need to link via club and league
-
Due to his size and strength he can we quite weak on the ball at times
-
Currently he is quite expensive for the card you get, right now I don’t think his 87 card is worth 200k, however you are paying the premium for it being a live card and the fact it is due to be upgraded to an 88
PLAYER COMPARISONS – IS HE BETTER THAN? (LIGUE 1 RBs)
Future Stars Vanderson (RB Version) – 75K
-
Vanderson is better defensively and has better physical attributes so he suited far more for a stay back fullback role, whereas Atal is far superior offensively due to his attributes and his 4* skill moves and 5* weak foot
-
Who would I choose, and why?
-
I would choose Atal as he offers far more versatility and attacking options than Vanderson does
-
Inform Hakimi – 340K
-
Hakimi offers a bit more pace and Stamina, but overall I would say Atal is a better card in pretty much most areas, Atal also has the 5* weak foot
-
Who would I choose, and why?
-
I would choose Atal, as I believe he is better in pretty much most areas
-
Winter Wildcard Fabio – 52K
-
The two cards are quite similar, Atal is simply better in pretty much every area, however I would consider Fabio a good cheap alternative for the Ligue 1 RB spot
-
Who would I choose, and why?
-
I would choose Atal as he is simply superior to Fabio
-
Future Stars Spence – 17K
-
Spence is better defensively and has better physical attributes so he suited far more for a stay back fullback role, whereas Atal is far superior offensively due to his attributes and his 4* skill moves and 5* weak foot
-
Who would I choose, and why?
-
I would choose Atal as he offers far more versatility and attacking options than Spence does
-
RATINGS
VERDICT
Atal’s card is definitely far more suited to an attacking role than a defensive role, despite his base position being a RB he is far more effective further up the field.
After using him for a significant amount of games, I had more success using him in attacking midfield position.
The main positives with this card is he has great pace and dribbling, and that alongside his 4* skill moves and 5* weak foot make him a lot of fun to use and he is very effective in the final third of the pitch.
The main negatives are he lacks a defensive and physical presence, so if you are looking for a defensive minded player than Atal really isn’t the one you are looking for, also I found him to suffer with stamina issues and I have to sub him off around the 70th minute most games.
Regarding his price, I think as it stands right now I would consider the price to be too expensive for what you get, but that is not taking into account the fact that he is a ‘live card’ and the fact he is due an upgrade to an 88 very soon.
Taking those factors into consideration I can see why the card is priced where it is, also Atal is a FIFA fan favourite which also adds a little bit of value on that.
So the question is, do I think he is a Spend or a Swerve? As long as you plan on using him more offensively and taking into account it is a live card which could upgrade to a 90+ rated card, I would say he is a SPEND!
