God Tier:
Lionel Messi (92):
Any promo card for the goat easily makes its way into God Tier. Slap a hunter chem style on Messi and you instantly have one of the best cards in the game. He may cost a lot of coins, but you can understand why. What a card!
Karim Benzema (92):
Karim is 4* 4* and has the finesse shot+ making him an incredible striker. He has 93 finishing and 94 positioning, so he’ll be in the right positions to bag lots of goals and a physical presence up top will be tough for your opponent to defend against.
Federico Valverde (90):
Wow! what a card. Comfortably into Gullit gang, Valverde is easily one of the best cards in the game. He can pretty much play anywhere on the pitch. The Real Madrid midfielder has High/High work rates with the Relentless PlayStyle+ so he’ll be a tank in the middle of the park.
N’Golo Kante (89):
Another legend of the game getting a well-deserved card. Kante has forever been one of the best CDMs to use over the years, so I have no doubt that this card will be unreal. He also has the Anticipate+ PlayStyle meaning this card will be very expensive but for a good reason.
Very good:
Sam Kerr (91):
Sam Kerr receives a nice upgrade from her base item with her new Radioactive card. The Australian striker has amazing dribbling with 91 agility, 92 ball control and 92 composure. Kerr also has the rapid PlayStyle+, so there is lots of positives to this card.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (88):
A massive pace boost for Kvaratskhelia as he gets a +6 from his base card. He’s also 5* 5* with the trickster PlayStyle+ so he’s definitely going to be a nightmare to defend against. With Kvaratskhelia instantly getting 2 chem points as soon as you put him in the squad, if you can afford him why not get him?
Ronald Araujo (88):
A fan favourite from last year, Araujo receives his first promo card of the year. The Barcelona centre-back has all 88 and 89 rated defensive in-game stats as well as 90 strength and aggression. He’ll for sure be a tank in your defensive line.
Asisat Oshoala (87):
Oshoala was a very popular card at the start of the game, so it’s no surprise that her Radioactive item is also very popular. She is very quick with 92 pace as well as some brilliant stats in other key areas such as 91 finishing, 92 agility and 94 strength.
Decent:
Nani (88):
A huge +15 boost from Nani’s silver card. The ex-Manchester United winger receives a massive boost in all stats including a +17 in pace and +12 in shooting. Nani also has very good dribbling stats,
Anderson Talisca (88):
He is a decent option as a CAM or CM as this Talisca card has some alright stats. He is 4* 4* and has good dribbling and shooting. Admittedly, he’s nothing special, but is still a clean card.
Noussair Mazraoui (87):
Mazraoui is a good option as a Bundesliga right-back. He has well-rounded stats and will definitely do a job. The only major problem I see with this card is that he has a low defensive work rate.
Wilfried Zaha (86):
Considering the chemistry links that this promo provides, Zaha is a very decent option for your squad. With 5* skills, high pace and high dribbling, Zaha will almost certainly cause problems down the left-side for your opponent.
Josko Gvardiol (86):
A solid boost for the Manchester City centre-back. His defending and physical stats are very good as well as some decent dribbling stats for a defender. However, there is a lot of centre-backs with similar stats who are probably a lot cheaper too.
Dominik Szoboszlai (86):
Szoboszlai is an extremely well-rounded card for a CAM. On face value, he has great shooting, brilliant passing and good dribbling. However, some key stats are lacking in certain places. For example, he has an awkward pace split with 82 acceleration and 91 sprint speed.
Ivan Perisic (86):
This Perisic card can play pretty much anywhere. He has a 5* weak foot and has very well-rounded stats. Saying this, I wouldn’t recommend playing him as a out-and-out winger, but as a CM he will be brilliant.
Meh:
Christian Eriksen (87):
For me, this card isn’t appealing at all and it shows through his price. Eriksen hasn’t got the best pace, not great shooting and doesn’t have the best agility and balance. Admittedly, he does have 4* skills and a 5* weak foot with very good passing stats.
Franck Kessie (86):
As purely a defensive midfielder, Kessie is a solid choice. However, he isn’t the quickest and isn’t the most agile so if he was to get turned, it may cause you problems. He also doesn’t have a PlayStyle+.
Oleksandr Zinchenko (86):
To be fair, this card is quite well-rounded, but as a full-back he is quite underwhelming. He doesn’t have the best physicals and at 5’9” it is likely he will get bullied off the ball. He also has a very uneven pace split so for me I’m going to give this card a miss.
Nikola Milenkovic (86):
Milenkovic isn’t bad by any means, but there is already a lot of Serie A centre-backs, so this feels a bit like a needless card. He’s got good defending and physical stats, but it isn’t anything out of the ordinary. He also doesn’t have a PlayStyle+.
Fodder:
Teemu Pukki (85):
This card is min price and you can definitely see why. Pukki has 3* skills and just very average stats all over.
Xherdan Shaqiri (85):
The only positive to this card for me is that Shaqiri has 5* skills and a 4* weak foot. Shaqiri’s in-game stats are very unbalanced. For example, he has 96 shot power which is very good, but he has only 76 finishing which is not the best. There’s definitely better CAMs available.
Carlos Vela (85):
Vela is yet another 85 rated MLS card sat at min price. Yet again, nothing really stands out with this card. As a right-winger, 85 pace is quite slow and his shooting stats really aren’t great. Just a very poor promo card.
Timothy Weah (85):
Weah is an average right-back, but he is behind the power curve at this stage of the game. He’ll be alright for a starting squad, but he will need to be upgraded pretty quickly. He also has an alternative position of a RM and RW but is nowhere near good enough to play that role.
Riqui Puig (85):
There’s definitely a theme here for these MLS cards. Puig is just very, very average. The only positive to this card is that he has okay dribbling. I can’t imagine that we will see Puig much in Champs.
