OOP Vazquez and OOP Perisic - Spend or Swerve

POSITIVES & NEGATIVES

• Positives

  • An extremely well rounded card, suited to a box to box CM and has H/H work rates

  • Felt very responsive on the ball, and allowed me to carry the ball up the pitch well

  • Good long distance shooting, scored some great goals

  • Very good club links, there are a lot of meta Real Madrid players in game

  • 4* Skills and 4* Weak Foot

• Negatives

  • Doesn’t have a physical presence for a CDM, he lacks strength

  • His defending is good, but not great, he needs to be paired with a more natural CDM

  • No shooting traits

PLAYER COMPARISONS – IS HE BETTER THAN? (LA LIGA HIGH/HIGH MIDFIELDERS)

• Ones to Watch (OTW) Kessie – Kessie is far superior defensively, however Vazquez is much better offensively. Vazquez also has 4* Skill Moves which Kessie does not.

• Player of the Month (POTM) Valverde – Valverde is also feels much better defensively, however again Vazquez is better offensively. Vazquez also has 4* Skill Moves which Valverde does not.

• Rulebreakers Merino – Merino is the obvious choice defensively, Vazquez if you want a more offensive player. Vazquez also has 4* Skill Moves and 4* Weak Foot which Merino does not.

• Road to the Knockout (RTTK) Lemar – Lemar has better dribbling, but overall Vazquez is the more rounded card. Vazquez also has 4* Weak Foot which Lemar does not.

RATINGS

VERDICT

Vazquez is a very good card, he is extremely well rounded and very versatile you can play him in many different positions.

He performed superb for me, offering me pretty much everything I needed as an offensive box to box CM. If you choose to pair him in a 2 CDM formation he will need a more natural CDM alongside him.

I also think he is very well priced, so for me it’s a Spend!

• Positives

  • An extremely well rounded and versatile card

  • Provides a noticeable physical presence due to his size and body type

  • Can change his Accelerate to Lengthy with an Architect on 3 chemistry points

  • He has the Outside Foot Shot trait, which you notice on his Trivela shots

  • 4* Skills 5* Weak Foot

• Negatives

  • Difficult Nation and Club links which makes getting 3 chemistry points difficult

  • 80 Balance and a High and Average body type isn’t ideal for left stick dribbling

PLAYER COMPARISONS – IS HE BETTER THAN? (PREMIER LEAGUE CENTER MIDFIELDERS)

• Inform (IF) De Bruyne – KDB is a more offensively complete version of Perisic, but defensively Perisic offers much more. I would go as far to say as Perisic is a good cheap alternative to IF KDB.

• Rulebreakers Thiago – Thiago has the 5* skills and better dribbling, but overall I would say Perisic is a better choice. Perisic has a 5* weak foot, whereas Thiago only has a 3* weak foot

• Out of Position (OOP) Fred – Perisic is a much better card than Fred in pretty much all areas. Perisic has a 5* weak foot, whereas Fred only has a 3* weak foot

• Hero Park Ji Sung – Park and Perisic look very similar, however I would still take the Perisic card as he offers more offensively. Perisic has 4* skill moves and 5* weak foot, whereas Park has 3* skill moves and 4* weak foot

VERDICT

Perisic is a beast of a card, he has a great physical presence and offers a lot of options offensively. I had more success with him when moving him to a CDM/B2B CM alongside a more natural CDM.

He is such a well-rounded card and very versatile, giving you lots of different ways you can utilise him, the biggest issue with the card is going to be links as his Nation and Club do not contain many meta players. Currently his price might seem high for some, but for what you get I think it’s a fair price so for me it’s a Spend!
