POSITIVES & NEGATIVES

Positives

  • Iwobi has 5* Skills and this is one of the biggest positives about the card, as this allows the ability to add variety into your attacks with him

  • He has a good burst off pace, and having 92 Acceleration with chemistry style applied that boosts Pace he is more than quick enough to play out wide if needed

  • Despite having a Tall and Normal body type and being 6’1” his dribbling is really smooth and responsive, I was expecting it to be a little bit more ‘heavy’ despite the high dribbling attributes but it wasn’t it was really enjoyable

  • With his 90 Shot Power and 90 Long Shots you can score some good long range efforts from outside the box, I managed to score a few with him

  • He has the Outside Foot Shot trait which is always useful to have, especially if you play him out wide

  • He has the alternate positions of RM and ST which is really nice to have for squad building

Negatives

  • Iwobi has Medium/Low work rates which is not ideal as this means attacking and defensive AI isn’t as effective as other with the High attacking work rates. You can still add custom tactic instructions to him to negate some of this

  • He is very difficult to link if you are not running a really heavy Premier League focused team as his club and nation are difficult to link to

  • I found that he has really inconsistent finishing inside the box, this is due to his 80 Finishing, and funnily enough this is exactly the same issue I had with World Cup Okocha

PLAYER COMPARISONS – IS HE BETTER THAN? – THIS 88 VERSION (CBs 50-100K)

Prime Icon Roberto Baggio – 220K

  • Baggio has much better passing which makes him more suited to the CAM role, Iwobi is much quicker and has better dribbling so would be more be better in the wide CAM or even striker role.

  • Who would I choose, and why?

    • I would choose Iwobi, simply due to his better dribbling and being quicker. This makes him more versatile

FUT Birthday Icon Rui Costa – 150K

  • Similar to Baggio, Costa has much better passing which makes him more suited to the CAM role, Iwobi is much quicker and has better dribbling so would be more be better in the wide CAM or even striker role.

  • Who would I choose, and why?

    • I would choose Iwobi, again due to his better dribbling and being quicker. This makes him more versatile

FUT Birthday Thomas Muller – 77K

  • Muller has better shooting and passing, which makes his better than Iwobi as a CAM and even as ST if he didn’t lack that bit of pace. Iwobi is quicker with better dribbling so again is more suited to a wide position.

  • Who would I choose, and why?

    • I would choose Muller for a CAM and Iwobi for a wide player

Winter Wildcard Jadon Sancho – 255K

  • Sancho has better passing, but overall Iwobi is slightly better in most other areas

  • Who would I choose, and why?

    • I would choose Iwobi as he is better in pretty much most areas

RATINGS

VERDICT

Iwobi is a good card, and I had a lot of fun using him, I enjoyed the fact he was quick, responsive and has 5* skill moves. He is definitely more suited to a wide position opposed to playing him through the middle of the pitch.

The reason I say this is that his passing is good, not great and his finishing is very inconsistent, so you want to utilise his pace and skill moves which are more suited out wide.

I wouldn’t say Iwobi was an exceptional card, he does a lot of stuff well and I think if you have him you will enjoy him but for me I don’t see him making his way into too many peoples teams but I could be wrong.

150K for this card is actually a good price when you compare him to the alternatives, having 5* skill moves and being in the Premier League comes with a premium but in this case I think it’s been priced really well.

So for me, Iwobi is a good card, a lot of fun to use and a very good price, this one is going to be a SPEND!
