FUT 22: Team of The Season Predictions - Bundesliga
Hello and welcome to Bundesliga Team of the Season Predictions. One of my favorite leagues this season (as per usual to be fair). Good, exciting season. We should get very fun TOTS with some insane players.
Of course, as a disclaimer: I’m doing these predictions before TOTS even announced and season is far from over (around 9-7 games left in league). So, few players can be included, if they finish season strong and had an alright season before. It happened before; it might happen again.
Also, few more details. I’m not including players that just recently got some Special cards. Especially those who were included in FUT Fantasy promo. I wanted to include some players, but obviously they are already high enough rated and might get even higher rating later in the season.
Also, I’m including more than 15 players in these predictions, as I don’t know whole concept of TOTS this year. I didn’t expect it to be only 15 players last season, this season I hope it’ll be different. I can’t fit only 15 players in Predictions. I wanted to, but even at 23 players I was founding more and more players who deserve it. So, I hope that this year we’ll get more than 15 players, also a lot of SBCs for TOTSMoments.
There are not many issues with Bundesliga TOTS, as most names are known already and we should get some sick players. There is Bayern, there’s BVB, there’s Bayer and RBL. Apart from those 4 teams – we should get players from teams who are finishing between 5th and 10th spots.

We’re starting as per usual with goalkeepers and it’s debatable one. I’m including Kevin Trapp from Eintracht, who’s probably the sexiest GK in Bundesliga (maybe even from all players in Bundesliga), but he’s also a damn good goalkeeper. Trapp already a legend for Frankfurt and he’s establishing him more and more every year. He got himself Headliners card and got few IFs, and he should get TOTS. Frankfurt did concede a lot of goals, but without Trapp they’d be even lower. Other options apart from him: Neuer, as per usual, as he was back to his best this season and only conceded 29 goals (so far). Neuer actually insane for his age and I won’t be surprised if he’ll get TOTS this season as he was really top 3 goalkeepers in Bundesliga this season, despite shaky Bayern defense. And the 3rd option is Mark Flekken from Freiburg. Unpopular name, not many of you heard it, but he and Freiburg having a very good season and challenging for UCL. Flekken got 9 CS, same as Neuer and he should get some recognition. Maybe Silver Stars or some MomentsSBC cards.
With defenders it’s kinda easier. We’re starting with center-backs: Nicolas Sule is the best CB in Bundesliga this season, in my opinion. Without him Bayern look way-way worse and he should get a very cool upgrade from his showdown card. Sadly for Bayern – he’s leaving to BVB and maybe he’ll sort their defense. If not him – they might even sign Nico Schlotterbeck from Freiburg. As already I mentioned Freiburg having a very good season and Nico is the best CB in their team and most likely top-3 in the league. For Bundesliga – it’s very hard to mention CBs, as everyone conceding a lot of goals. So last choice would be Evan N’dicka from Frankfurt, same as Trapp. Yes, they concede quite a lot, but without these 2 – they’d be way-way lower. Another choice for TOTS – Josko Gvardiol from Leipzig. We usually getting UpamecanoOrban TOTS, but this season would be Gvardiol time. Very popular card in FUT and probably will get an insane card and will be popular if he’ll get some nice links (cough-cough, Nkunku). That’s it for Central defenders, as even your usual aspects like Upa, Lacroix and other French players didn’t perform that well this season.
For left backs: we’ve got a new guy in town. David Raum is the main left back of the season and he’s from mighty Hoffenheim. Despite all odds – they are fighting for European spots and David Raum is one of the reasons for that. Alongside Kramaric is probably main reason for Hoffenheim success. Got 3 IFs this season and should get one fantastic TOTS. He should be very fun TOTS and probably will be quite popular in FUT. Raum got himself 3 goals and 8 assists this season so far.
2nd option for left back is Alphonso Davies. Despite being injured for a long period – he still was fantastic. Before going out with heart issues – he was best LB in the league and he came back now and can impress once again. It’s really wild-card choice for TOTS and he easily can be excluded. He can get Moments for some performances or SBC. Main reason – he’s a pack seller, so he might get in.
With right-backs it’s even harder to choose players. To be fair – I have only 1 option: Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen. He was solid whole season and played 25 games this season. He got himself 1 goal and 6 assists this season and Bayer looking like they’ll get UCL. He developed very nicely this season. Problem is that he just got Future Stars card so IDK if they’ll give him another TOTS just few months after. But yeah, I can’t even name other options, as I feel like Right-backs the weakest position in Bundesliga. Maybe Gamboa from Bochum, who had a bright season for them and one of the main reasons for their survival (so far). Other players got already some promo cards recently.
That’s it with defenders in Bundesliga. I can’t even name more player. I was looking through lists and maybe Borna Sosa from Stuttgart, but he hasn’t been that consistent this season. Very weird season, because usually we have big lists of defenders who can make the team.
So, let’s move to midfielders, right? A lot of good options in every department. Main ones, of course: Bellingham, Kimmich, Nkunku. All 3 shouldn’t be really debatable ones: Bellingham got 3 goals and 7 assists in Bundesliga alone and feels like one of the most important players from BVB (but has the same issue as some other cards: recently got a very high rated Future Stars card, but as we saw in Previous years – it shouldn’t prevent him getting TOTS). Kimmich was the most consistent midfielder for Bayern and got multiple IFs, got 3 goals and 9 assists and undoubtedly will get very high rated and good TOTS card.
Same goes for Nkunku. What can I even say. One of the better performances in 1 season. He improved from season to season and that all escalated in this season. 17 goals, 12 assists, 3 POTM awards, multiple IFs, a lot of praise from everyone and one of the better TOTS in this team. Nkunku going to be insane and will be very popular card in FUT. Even tho people a bit tired of him, he still deserves every stuff he gets.
Moving on to subs and other players. For example – I must mention Florian Wirtz. Despite his cruel injury in latter stages of the season – he should get TOTS anyway. Same issues as Bellingham – very high rating because of Future Stars, but won’t be a problem IMO. 7 goals and 10 assists to his name in 24 games and he would get even more, if he wouldn’t rupture his ACL in March.
We also should see usual players like Thomas Muller with 7 goals and 16 assists to his name. Thomas had a very good season, despite few rough weeks in the end of March-April. He finally won 1st POTM in his career and still plays fantastic. Should be a decent card, as Muller usually gets boosted nicely during TOTS.
And as wild-card choice for lower rated and cheap player: Robert Andrich from Bayer 04. He might be under the radar, but he was important for their midfield and was consistent starter in most of the season. He started season pretty slow but came in and played amazingly for the most of the season. Scored 4 important goals and got 2 important assists. So yeah, if EA will need a cheap option for TOTS – it’s Andrich time.
Moving back to Freiburg – Vincenzo Grifo deserves TOTS card with his 8 goals and 7 assists. He might get LM card or CM, but CM one would be a lot better, as there are options at LM spot. Grifo, alongside Freiburg defense, carries them to highest finish lately. A lot of crucial goals, not only penalties and he should get nice TOTS. Let’s hope it’s central, but probably will be LM.
Let’s cover some wingers too. Fun part. 2 wingers from Bayern deserve to be in TOTS. On both wings. Coman on the left had an insane season (good thing that he didn’t get injured) and got himself 6 goals and 2 assists. A lot of praise by everyone and despite not getting that many assists and goals – he was very good. He should get TOTS and it will look very good. Same goes for Sane: 7 goals and 7 assists to his name. He had few rough weeks after February, but despite that he should get very good card. Dunno where it will be RM or LM, but both wingers were swapping positions. Gnabry is possible too, but he had very weak 2nd part of the season IMO. He got 11 goals and 5 assists, but IDK if he’ll get TOTS. Maybe he’ll get it instead of Sane. Or Coman. Or he won’t get it at all. Very hard, I can’t put all 3 wingers, because it’s not fair to other teams.
Speaking about other teams: Moussa Diaby from Bayer Leverkusen was impressive and got 12 goals and 9 assists. Very good numbers, right? He should get very nice TOTS and same as Nkunku – after he left PSG – he shined in Bundesliga and now worth a lot. Diaby was very good and crucial for Bayer. It’s kinda funny that I’m including that many players from Bayer – but they all deserve it and all shined during whole season.
And what Bundesliga TOTS without Filip Kostic. Another good season with 4 goals and 8 assists. I think I’m including a bit too many Frankfurt players, especially when we consider that they are sitting at 9th place and doubt that they’ll get in Euro Cups. But if we select 1 player from Frankfurt – it’d be Trapp, then Kostic, then Ndicka. But yeah, Kostic got TOTS in every Eintracht season in past 3 years and IDK if he’ll miss this one, as he deserves it.
I think that’s all. I could’ve included a bit more players from Freiburg (Nicolas Hofler) or Ellyes Skhiri from Koln, who had a very bright season with 4 goals and 1 assist and Koln having good season too. But they would be lower rated and not that popular and rather cheap. We’ll see what they’ll do and who they’ll choose, but that’s it for midfielders and wingers from me.
Moving on to final part and that was the easiest part: strikers. There are 4 clear options that I think will make the squad.
Lewandowski in an obvious choice. Like nothing to say about his choice. I don’t know if he’ll be higher than TOTY or lower, but hopefully they’ll make him 5* WF. Of course he deserves it.
Haland would be interesting choice, as he was injured for a long time. He still scored 16 goals and got 6 assists in 19 games, so that should be enough for TOTS and he’s quite popular player (right, huh?) and that’s why he should get TOTS in my mind.
Patrick Schick is 3rd choice. Another Bayer player, another injury midseason, but he slowly coming back. 20 goals and 1 assist in 22 games. Insane season for Czech striker and very nice seeing him shine after very good EURO too. Going to be one good card.
And the last, but not least: Antony Modeste. French striker came back to Bundesliga with a bang and scored 15 goals and got 2 assists in Koln shirt. He would be my choice for 4th striker ahead of Kramaric, Awoniyi (who would be nice silver stars) and Andre Silva.
Overall, very strange season for strikers in Buli, as apart from clear 3 strikers – no one stood out and not even usual players like Petersen didn’t score more than 10 goals.
That’s it for all for Bundesliga TOTS. I think I may have missed or ignored few players, and they might get into TOTS, but that depends a lot on a voting, so we’ll see how they’ll do it this year. Maybe another Goretzka coming.
