Flashback Kevin De Bruyne - Spend or Swerve
POSITIVES & NEGATIVES
Positives
-
KDB has exceptional passing, his short and long range passing are superb.
-
He has great long shooting ability, with 88 Shot Power and 88 Long Shots he is able to score from range consistently.
-
He is able to change his AcceleRATE style from Controlled to Controlled Lengthy with multiple chemistry styles.
-
He has the Incisive Pass PlayStyle+ which means passes travel much faster along the ground without impacting the trapping difficulty of the receiver.
-
Has also has five Playstyles – Dead Ball, Pinged Pass, Long Ball Pass, Whipped Crosser and Trivela.
-
As he is from the Premier League and Manchester City he has lots of good links.
Negatives
-
KDB only has 4* weak foot which isn’t bad but his Rare Gold card has 5* weak foot
-
He only has 70 Agility and 74 Balance so he does not dribble as responsive as others.
-
The SBC itself is quite expensive when you compare the price to tradeable alternatives, and due to the rise in fodder price it has become much more expensive over the past few days

RATINGS
VERDICT
KDB performed absolutely incredibly for me. His range of passing and long-range shooting surpassed any other player I was using. I was genuinely surprised at how well he performed defensively, as he seemed to intercept the opposition’s passes frequently.
He does lack physicality, and his lower agility and balance are noticeable in certain situations. However, other than that, there are no real weaknesses in his game.
The big issue right now is the price of the card. When I completed the SBC, it was around 90k. However, it’s currently priced at about 150k, which is a substantial increase. Additionally, KDB’s rare gold card is priced at 105k, and I would argue that it’s better than this card. So, if you’re considering committing liquid coins to the SBC, I would recommend just buying the rare gold version.
Whether it’s a ‘Spend’ or ‘Swerve’ really depends on whether you can use any untradeable fodder to reduce the price. For me, he’s absolutely worth putting your fodder into, as he has been amazing. However, I can’t justify spending coins on the SBC.
So, with that in mind, I’d say if you’re using coins, then ‘Swerve’. If you can use untradeable fodder to bring the price down, then it’s a ‘Spend’.
Based solely on in-game performance, it’s definitely a SPEND!
