fifaRAWR's Team of the Week Predictions: Week 23 - The Final Team
Perhaps this may be a slightly different team to what you were expecting but given so many TOTW Predictions are almost identical this week, what’s the point in me putting out the same team you’ve already seen numerous times? Exactly, so yes, the absence of the likes of Diego Alves might and probably will come back to bite me in the arse but for the sake of differentiation, it’s worth it. Oh, and if my punts do come off I’m going to look like a bloody genius.
Lionel Messi is in my opinion still the best player in the world and the Argentinian broke more records in Barcelona’s 6-0 demolition of Rayo Vallecano. Scoring twice and assisting another, the little magician not only broke compatriot Alfredo Di Stefano’s goalscoring record in La Liga, but also equaled another Real Madrid legend’s record, Raul, with 228 goals. Finally, he also broke Telmo Zarra’s record of the most goals with one Spanish club with his first goal before taking the total to 337 with his second.
Last week we got the first TIF of FUT14 after Eden Hazard’s hattrick against Newcastle and it might be time for the second in the form of Colombian midfielder James Rodriguez. The Monaco playmaker scored twice in their 2-0 over Bastia and was awarded Ligue 1 Player of the Week.
Dortmund’s Gabonese winger Pierre Emerick Aubameyang scored his 3rd and 4th goals in three games as BVB swept past Eintracht Frankfurt at Signal Iduna Park. It was a great performance all round from the men in yellow, so good in fact there’s a small chance Xherdan Shaqiri could be excluded from this FUT TOTW… all down to Kevin Großkreutz being in kicker’s TOTW over Bayern’s Swiss midfielder!
