fifaRAWR's Team of the Week Predictions: Week 18 - The Final Team
I’ll be honest, this week is looking a bit crap so I guess it’s a good thing there’s a few of these blue cards popping up here and there, eh? We welcome Ligue 1 back this week which rejoins the Premier League, La Liga and Serie A as the four major European leagues playing at the moment; Bundesliga returns soon. Ashley Cole is still regarded by many as one of the best, if not the best left back in the world and he was fantastic in Chelsea’s hard fought 2-0 win over a resilient Hull site. He assisted Eden Hazard’s fantastic goal with a classy back heel and was awesome defensively throughout.
There was something extra riding on the already mammoth game between Portuguese title rivals Benfica and Porto at the weekend with it being Benfica’s first game since the passing of legend Eusebio. Benfica were determined to win the highly emotional encounter and did so 2-0, the second goal thanks to centre back Ezequiel Garay who was also awesome throughout. Nemanja Matic, who seems to be on his way to Chelsea, also put in a fantastic display in midfield
The final “top” player in the team in my opinion is the second in form of Giovani dos Santos, the Mexican Villarreal striker. He scored twice and assisted two more as the Yellow Submarine tore apart Real Sociedad 5-1 which was also the away sides first defeat in two months, their last coming by the same scoreline against Real Madrid.
