fifaRAWR's Team of the Week Predictions: Week 16 - Part 1 and 2
With it being the festive period, this week’s TOTW Prediction is going to be a little bit different to usual, seeing as the majority of leagues are on their winter breaks. I’m going to combine parts 1 and 2 into one article and I’ve made a full team of potential Premier League in forms below, given the Premier League is the only major European league playing at the moment, as well as the usual Rest of the World team. However, seeing as there’s so few Rest of the World leagues playing, there’s a fairly strong British theme to it.

Remember these 18 players are just the players I THINK are the most likely, this does not rule them out from EA’s or even my final team in any way!
Manchester City racked up two home wins over the Christmas period and Vincent Kompany was fantastic in both matches, scoring in the 2-1 win over Liverpool and putting in a good performance in the 1-0 over Crystal Palace. Joe Hart, however, was the MOTM in the 1-0 win over Palace as he made a few fantastic saves ensuring City didn’t slip up against the relegation threatened Londoners. Seamus Coleman scored his fifth of the season as the Toffees beat Southampton 2-1 at Goodison, another fantastic goal from the little Irishman. A trio of West Brom players from their two fixtures over the festive period next, Jonas Olsson scored their only goal as they drew 1-1 against Spurs on Boxing Day, Chris Brunt had a say in two of their goals in Saturday’s thrilling 3-3 draw against West Ham and regardless of the controversy surrounding his celebration, Nicolas Anelka has a chance of getting an in form after scoring two of Albion’s goals in that previously mentioned 3-3 draw. The final defender in the team is Serb Nemanja Vidic who may be getting on a bit, but was awesome in Manchester United’s 1-0 win against Norwich at Carrow Road.
Tom Huddlestone can finally have a hair cut after scoring in Hull’s 6-0 demolition of Fulham, he also assisted another after crashing a 40 yard free kick onto the bar and Matty Fryatt tapped home the rebound. Robert Koren also scored twice in the 6-0 win, but Huddlestone was also the Man of the Match. Korean midfielder Ki Sung-Yeung scored a Sunderland penalty and was brilliant all round as they beat Everton 1-0, Vito Mannone was also incredible in goal for the away side making a large number of top class saves. Jordon Mutch was awesome in midfield for Cardiff at the weekend, regardless of the fact they chucked away a 2-0 lead and have an owner with the same amount of football knowledge as a shoe, he scored a good goal and assisted another and has a good chance of an in form. Cardiff also didn’t have the best of matches on Boxing Day as Southampton swept them aside 3-0, Jay Rodriguez was the star of the show, scoring twice and assisting another but Rickie Lambert also played very well up front for the Saints, finding the net once and assisting one of Rodriguez’ goals.
The French duo of Hatem Ben Arfa and Loic Remy were brilliant for Newcastle as they came from behind to beat nine men Stoke 5-1, Ben Arfa was incredible, assisting two goals and creating chances all afternoon and Loic Remy scored twice, but had a penalty saved which may hurt his chances of an in form. Theo Walcott scored twice for Arsenal as they came from behind to beat West Ham 3-1, Lukas Podolski also had a huge influence after coming off the bench and Wayne Rooney scored his 150th Premier League goal for Manchester United and grabbed himself an assist as they also came from behind to beat Hull 3-2.

ST: Danny Ward (Huddersfield) – 2 Goals, 2 Assists, 5-1 vs Yeovil (65>70)
Enrico Guarna got into double figures when it comes to saves this weekend, making ten for Bari as they beat Novara 1-0 and Saudi ‘keeper Ahmed Al Kassar saved a penalty for the second game in a row as well as making five additional saves in a 1-0 win. Greek right back Georgios Galitsios scored Lokeren’s third as they beat Oostende 3-0, Ian Sharps scored Burton Albion’s only goal as they beat bottom side Northampton 1-0 and Virgil van Dijk scored a fantastic goal, running from inside his own half, beating numerous players and calmly finishing past St. Johnstone’s ‘keeper in a 1-0 win.
Danjiel Milicevic scored once and assisted twice in Charleroi’s 3-0 win over an imploding Genk side, who have lost their last four league matches. Felipe Melo assisted a Wesley Sneijder goal and scored one himself for Gala as they won 3-1, his goal was somehow assisted by goalkeeper Fernando Muslera which I find incredibly odd given Melo is a defensive midfielder (I haven’t googled the goal yet). A quartet of English midfielders next, Grant Leadbitter scored twice including a 30 yard thunderbolt as Middlesbrough won their third game in a row, Matt Ritchie scored twice and assisted once for Bournemouth on Boxing Day as they beat a struggling Yeovil outfit, former Arsenal player Craig Eastmond scored twice for Colchester from a defensive midfield role in their 4-0 win over Stevenage and Scott Hogan had a brilliant festive period, scoring twice on Boxing Day and once at the weekend. The final midfielder in the team is Thiago Neves who is nailed on for a second in form, the Brazilian scored a hattrick and made an assist in a 5-1 victory for Al Hilal.
Dimitri Petratos scored a hattrick for Brisbane Roar as they beat Alessandro Del Piero’s Sydney FC 5-2, Imoh Ezekiel scored and assisted twice for Standard Liege in a commanding 5-1 victory, as did Huddersfield striker Danny Ward who was Man of the Match for the Terriers as they demolished Yeovil. Leon Clarke scored twice and assisted once for Coventry as they beat Peterborough 4-2, Brazilian striker Jonathas scored once and assisted twice for Italian Serie B side Latina as they won 4-1 and Scot Stevie May scored all three of St. Johnstone’s goals as they beat Dundee Utd 3-0.
I may get the final team up tonight, if not, it’ll surface early tomorrow afternoon!
