Hello and welcome to Eredivisie Team of The Season Predictions.

Eredivisie is my favorite league outside of big 5, just due to my bias and love for Dutch football, so here we go. One of few minor league predictions that I’ll do and I’ll try to make it as good as possible.

I tried to consult with few Eredivisie fans on Twitter and tried to create this beauty (or a beast) of a team. Hard season in Eredivisie, as it had everything: very good title race until the 2nd part of the season, close battle for Europe and Champions League spots and surprising (soon to be-) champion. Feyenoord came in strong this season and showing that last year was just a start with their Conference League final and this year they have another gear to make a deep run in Europa League and win an Eredivisie (I really hope that I don’t jinx them).

Alfred Schreuder’s experiment in Ajax failed (who would’ve thought? Nearly everyone to be honest) and they appointed Johnny Heitinga, ex club legend, to salvage the season. It’s his first big manager job and he’s doing his best, but still lost to Feyenoord in crucial match of the season, so now they are battling with PSV who’s managed by another Netherlands legend – Ruud Van Nistelrooy. Xavi Simmons is main star of this PSV squad, but they struggled too. Overall question at the end of the season: who finishes higher between PSV and Ajax. AZ were there too, but recently dropped to 4th spot with some unfortunate results in March. And 2 teams that performed better than people expected are: Twente and Sparta. Twente’s home form is actually sensational – they are 2nd on home points (only losing to PSV), but away form is what that failed them. Sparta been good, especially their GK and main attacker, who will both be included in TOTS.

TOTS mainly based on top 6 teams, because then gap is a bit too big, but as usual – there’s one striker outside of top 6 who performed well and it’s Douvikas from Utrecht, who are currently 7th. He should be in TOTS too.

I included Timber, even tho he wasn’t at his best this season, but knowing EA – they’d love him to get TOTS to make it better for users. It’s wild guess. If not him – Propper from Twente as CB would be my choice.

Unusual season in Eredivisie, as no striker passed 20 goals mark, which is rare for this league, and that way choosing TOTS was harder.

Let’s see how I’ll do, but I’ve went with 11 main players and few bench players just in case I missed someone + some options for Objectives and SBCs.

Starting 11:

GK: Nick Olij (Sparta) – 13 clean sheets and on average 1 goal conceded per game

CB: David Hancko (Feyenoord) – 2 goals and 4 assists, 8 clean sheets
