Hello and Welcome to Premier League Team of The Season predictions. Yes, it’s TOTS time and we’re starting with the most hyped league. A lot of PL fans around the world are excited for TOTS (not Chelsea or Liverpool ones, but still).

I’ll try to make the most accurate TOTS Prediction, but it’s always hard if EA will include only 15 players, as they’ve been doing past 2 years.

I’ll do more than 15 players, because it’s nearly impossible for me to tie down to 15, especially in Prem, where a lot of players perform well. I’ll do 18 and some reserves, that should probably be okay with objectivesSBCs and mini release over the week.

Biggest highlight of the season should be a title race between Arsenal and Manchester City. Both teams been performing at amazing level and both deserve to lift that precious title and trophy. I’ll include a lot of players from both teams, as they’ve been clearly the best. Even then – I had discussion on Twitter and some of positions were debatable.

There should be a lot of defenders from Newcastle, as they had the best defense this season, there should be duo of players from United as their season been good and they’ll (probably) get UCL spot. There should be some players from mid-table clubs, I’ll include players from Brighton, Liverpool, Fulham and Brentford.

And another highlight of the season is a relegation race. Man, it’s so exciting to watch and a lot changes after just 1 game. I think we’ll see some “moments” card from lower rated teams, just to highlight survival or something like that.

I should speak less and start naming players, so let’s do this.

Goalkeepers – I had 4 candidates for this position. First and most obvious choice is Nick Pope – they had the most CS and he has so far the most Clean sheets in the league, so he should be number 1. But there are other options. Ramsdale been sensational in a lot of games for Arsenal and clutched a lot of points for them, Alisson was arguably the best Liverpool player this season and if not for him – they’d be even lower. Also Bernd Leno from Fulham had great season and it’s nice to see him performing well, after few rough years in Arsenal. So yeah, choice is really hard one. I’ll go with Ramsdale, but this decision is really hard and we might actually see different one, based on how season ends (or how it’ll be before TOTS release).

Now, we’re moving to defenders. I think no one will be against Kieran Trippier at Right-back. I don’t think there are a lot of options. I’ve seen Ben White shouts – he played really well and I can see him being on the bench or somewhere as Objective – but Trippier should be starting RB without a doubt. Apart from great defensive work, he also managed to get 1 goal and 6 assists from RB position, that adds as a bonus for him too (with Newcastle conceding least amount of goals).

Center-backs: this should be hard. First choice would be Saliba from Arsenal. Very dominant, very good first Season in Prem and he would be insane in FUT too. Yeah he was injured for some time, but that shouldn’t affect him a lot. To partner him in main squad I have Botman from Newcastle – but it’s the most debatable spot I’ve seen. Ake, Stones, Martinez – all deserve a shout out and probably any of them can get it. Also Schaar was really good for Newcastle, but in my opinion – Botman was more important. I’ve rarely seen Botman put a foot wrong. It’s very hard, I can see this spot being debatable when TOTS will be released. So yeah, I think Botman as starting CB, Ake as an option on the bench as CBLB.

Speaking about Left Back – a lot of shouts for Zinchenko, but IMO Shaw was just a bit better, apart from infamous game vs Liverpool. Zinchenko had few debatable performances too (again, against Liverpool), but overall that shouldn’t matter. I feel like Arsenal system helps Zinchenko a lot and excels his good parts and hides some weaknesses, so I went with Shaw. Both players should be in TOTS and both would be in, so if anything – Shaw in starting line up, Zinchenko on the benchSBC (EA loves Zinchenko special cards this year, so I can expect some shenanigans with Zinchenko).

As a separate mention – Tim Ream from Fulham deserves Silver Stars. He’s been incredible for Fulham, got a lot of praise, even from Pep Guardiola and overall in his age he played fantastic season.

Now, we move on to midfielders. There are a lot of them. First up I have Defensive Midfielder and my choice is Palinha from Fulham. Surprising? Most likely. Unexpected? You decide. I think Palhinha been a stand out DM this season and he was one of the best signings of the season. Fulham got a gem with him and he proved his value and his worth. A lot of people rated him before, in Sporting, but he came in Prem and played at the same level. Okay, if you want another marquee player – it should be Rodri. Amazing player, perfect Fernandinho replacement. Very good in Man City, Pep loves him and I feel like every opponent manager hates him – he plays wonderfully on the pitch and very important for City’s title chance.

I think we’ll see one out of 2 or both someway in TOTS, so yeah. Speaking about some partners for them – KDB and Odegaard shouldn’t be debatable. Odegaard going for Player of the Season award, KDB been somewhat debatable this season, but he sped up, when it matters. KDB has 5 goals and 14 assists this season (Hello, Erling) and Odegaard has 10 goals and 7 assists to their names. One more option for central midfield is Alexis Mac Allister. Brighton player won World Cup, I repeat: Brighton player won World Cup. And he continued his amazing form in Prem, so everyone wants to buy him right now. Alexis been clutch this season. I remember him playing first few games for Brighton and him scoring a penalty or something and look at him now! 8 goals to his name to add to his wonderful performances and amazing Brighton season.

I think that’s enough for players from the middle of the pitch, so we’re moving on to wingers. Saka, Salah are my choices for right wing. Saka been incredible for Arsenal, it’s no debate that he’ll get TOTS and he’s also in a race for POTY. 12 goals and 10 assists for Saka this season, incredible performance for such a young player.

It wasn’t the best Salah season, but how can you ignore 13 goals and 7 assists to his name. Yeah, he missed 2 last pens for Liverpool, but overall without his goals and Alisson saves – Liverpool might have been in relegation battle. I know a lot of people don’t like him and think that this season’s Salah been bad – but I can’t go against numbers. 13 non penalty goals for a winger in a struggling team is great result.

Left mid is a hard spot. I mean – of course Rashford gets in, like it’s no debate. 15 goals and 4 assists (to add more arguments about Salah) for Marcus, he’s hit an amazing form after World Cup and was at one moment looking like one of the best players in Prem. Overall, very good season, carried Manchester United’s attack and played well.

2nd Left wing spot is very hard. It’s kinda between Martinelli and Trossard, both are from Arsenal, but Martinelli just edges it for me. 18 contributions for Gabi with 14 goals and 4 assists, stepped up a lot for his age and Arsenal can do a magic with this young squad. Martinelli TOTS also will be interesting in FUT, as he finally has 4* Skills and 4* Weak Foot. So yeah, I won’t be surprised if we’ll see someone else, but Martinelli would be my choice.

Shout out to Solly March and Miguel Almiron. Both had great periods of constantly good performances, but 4 other choices just edge it for me. Can easily see Almiron getting a Moments card tho, he’s had some wonderful goals.

And last, but not least, strikers.

Kinda easy, probably easiest position to choose. Haaland and Kane have no competition, so I won’t even discuss them, other options are Toney and Watkins. I see Toney getting TOTS, as he scored 18 goals this season. 3 more than 4th place and he’s behind only Kane and Haaland. Watkins was wonderful after Emery came in, but start of the season was really meh in my opinion. Again, another candidate for Moments card.

That’s it for me, I feel like it should be really close to reality, but of course, as per usual – I expect some unexpected things to happen. Also I expect some undeserved players to be included, and maybe one of your favorites will miss out on TOTS, but don’t be sad, it’s only a game. Why you have to be mad.

As per usual – open for discussion on Twitter.
