Hello and welcome to POTM Predictions for Bundesliga for February. It was exciting month in Bundesliga, top teams are performing well and title race is exciting.

For example, BVB is on insane winning streak. They didn’t even draw a game in 9 matches. They are now 2nd in Bundesliga and tied on points with Bayern. Julian Brandt is a player that found a great form. Great to see him performing well this season after few struggling seasons. In February he managed to get 4 goals in 4 games of Bundesliga. 1 in every win: in 1-0 win over Hoffenheim, 4-1 win over Hertha, 2-0 win over Werder and 1 goal in 5-1 win over Freiburg. He won previous POTM and he would have a great chance of getting 2 in a row. Karim Adeyemi was performing well before his injury and he can get nominated too. Brandt, if he wins – he’d be 89 rated (would probably enjoy him being 90 rated more, but EA a bit weird with POTM ratings this season and it still confuses me with how higher rated cards work). 89 card would be decent, but also should be very cheap. Wouldn’t expect it being more than 84 rated squad and being cheap fodder.

Next up, as I’ve mentioned – Bayern Munich. Even after signing Sommer – Monchengladbach remains to be Bayern kryptonite: 3-2 defeat to them away from home, but apart from that – they won every game convincingly and won vs their title race opponent Union Berlin. Main man of the month for Bayern is Kingsley Coman. King Coman performed sensationally well for Bayern: he scored 2 goals vs Wolfsburg in 4-2 win, 1 goal vs Bochum in 3-0 win, 1 goal and 1 assist vs Union. He missed a game vs Monchengladbach and they lost that game. Coincidence? I think not. Coman had recently an IF, so his POTM would be 89 rated. Or 90 – same situation as Brandt. Coman’s card would be similar to his WC Promo card. So I expect this card to be around 100k – his IF is around 40k, so I’ll add SBC tax and Bayern tax.

Next up is a surprise. Jae-Sung Lee from Mainz had the best month in his Bundesliga career. Overall – Mainz had a fantastic showing: they won 3 games out of 4, only lost to Union Berlin in a close game (2-1). Jae-Sung performed well in 3 wins: 2 goals vs Augsburg in 3-1 win, assist vs Bayer in 3-2 win and fantastic performance vs Borussia Monchengladbach: 1 goal and 1 assist. Only Monchengladbach can win vs Bayern and lose next match day 4-0 to Mainz. Jae-Sung just got an IF and should get a nominee. If he wins – he’d be 8687 rated card with some average stats and wouldn’t get a lot of hype. So I expect it to be around 83 rated squad, as Brandt. Maybe even les.

And the last MAIN candidate: Vincenzo Grifo from Freiburg. Freiburg won 2 games out of 4, drew a game vs Bayer Leverkusen and lost 5-1 to Freiburg. Grifo had a fine month: 3 goals and 1 assist. He scored 2 goals in 2-1 win over Stuttgart, got an assist vs Bochum in 2-0 win and scored 1 goal in a game vs Bayer. Grifo every year has a lot of special cards, after moving to Freiburg and this year isn’t an exception. If he wins POTM – he’d be 89 rated card, otherwise it’s pointless. That card would be fine fodder and probably would provide some cool links too. Maybe for someone it’ll be an interesting card, but for most of people – it would be a cheap fodder. Again, same as previous POTM – 83 rated squad, 84 at max.

There will be at least 6 candidates and finding last 2 was hard for me, because other teams played worse and not many players stood out. For example – RB Leipzig, who won 2 games out of 4 and lost only 1 close game to Union Berlin. I’d nominate Emil Forsberg from them: He scored 2 goals and got 1 assist in 2 wins. He scored 1 goal in 3-0 win over Wolfsburg and got 1 goal and 1 assist vs Frankfurt in very important game for Top 4 spot. Forsberg just had a special card for UCL RTTF Promo and this one would be pretty similar to his RTTF, so I don’t expect it to be more expensive than 82-83 rated team.

Speaking about Frankfurt – Kolo Muani, despite his bad performance in UCL vs Napoli – had a fine month in Bundesliga with 3 goals to his name: 2 goals vs Hertha in 3-0 win and 1 goal in 2-0 win vs Werder. Sadly – Frankfurt lost 2 games: 3-0 vs Koln and 2-1 vs Leipzig as I’ve mentioned before. Kolo Muani would have 86-87 card and would be fine, but I think he doesn’t have a chance at winning an award. Again, it would be very cheap POTM.

And lastly, I’d like to mention Union Berlin. Despite their loss vs Bayern – they still had a good month: before a game vs Bayern – they won 2 games and drew 1. Overall they’re having amazing season and even top 4 spot would be a successful season. Like way more than just successful. It’s amazing story for their supporters and neutrals. But again – not anyone really stood out for them, so nominating 1 player is hard. I’ll skip them, but I won’t be surprised to see someone getting a nomination instead of ForsbergKolo Muani.

So, that’s it for this month and we should see a close race between Brandt, Grifo, Coman and Lee, but I expect Brandt to win an award, as he’s been the most consistent one and BVB results helping his case. Same goes with Coman, so it’ll be a close one. Coman would be just a bit better for FUT (but still not meta enough, let’s be honest).
