Hello and welcome to Premier League POTM Predictions for October. Despite POTMs not being as good as before (maybe it’ll change later), we still need to highlight a lot of good performances over this month.

There were some real standouts apart Haaland. Erling in his own category, and yes, he’ll be nominated. But he won’t be the main candidate, ho ho! Surprise for some of you, I’m sure.

As per usual – I’m covering 67 candidates that have good shot at winning POTM, but as per usual – I’m starting with least likeliest to most.

Let’s the games begin.

First up, we have Andreas Pereira from Fulham. Overall, London club had a successful month by their standards, they only lost twice to Newcastle and West Ham. They also managed to get 8 points from other 4 games with getting 2 wins (over Aston Villa and Leeds in amazing comeback fashion). So, main highlight, as I’ve said – Andreas Pereira for me. He managed to get 1 goal and 3 assists in those 6 games that he played and some of them were really important: 2 assists vs Leeds in 3-2 comeback, 1 assist in 2-2 draw vs Bournemouth. Also 1 goal in 3-1 defeat vs West Ham, but we don’t count that. If he wins – realistically he should get 81 rated card, but I doubt that it’d be the case and let’s say it’ll be 84 rated card with some good all around stats and would also be nice and cheap.

Next up I have is a surprise of the month for me: Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea. Kepa managed to get on track after few bad seasons and under Potter he shines (at least shined this month). Before last game vs Brighton, Kepa conceded only 2 goals in 5 games (1 vs United and 1 vs Crystal Palace) and overall was sensational in goal. As I’ve said – he had rough game vs Brighton and didn’t save that Casemiro shot, so that’s why he’s here and not in upper echelon. Kepa would probably get 83 rated card if he wins, as his base is 80. I don’t know how POTM upgrades work yet, so that’s why I’m hesitant. He also would be really cheap, so don’t worry about price too much.

Then we have Leicester. They managed to climb up in this month despite having a very very bad start. James Maddison was a highlight for me from Leicester, but Faes and Barnes deserve honorable mention. Maddison managed to get 3 goals and 1 assist in those 5 games, even tho most of them were in 11 game. He played well vs Nottingham and got 2 goals an 1 assist and also scored 1 goal in crucial game vs Wolves in 4-0 win. Maddison isn’t the brightest and obvious pick in this selection, but feels like he’s had a great month and I wanted to represent Leicester just a bit. If Maddison gets POTM – it’ll probably be 84 or even 86 rated card with some nice stats, but not more usable than his IF that worth 12k coins. So I expect price of this one being 2025k.

Choosing Arsenal player was tough. A lot of good performances and I was debating between Saka and Xhaka. You can even say it was Boom SakaXhalaka month for Arsenal with 4 wins and 1 draw to Southampton. If we go with Xhaka route – he’s on some redemption story arc with few bad seasons and now back to being his best under Arteta. Xhaka scored 2 goals over this month – 1 in 1-1 draw vs Southampton and 1 in 3-11 win over Spurs. Overall he played really well and it was highlighted by different pundits and Arteta himself. If he wins – he gets 8284 rated card with some bad stats, but at least he can be lengthy and be like Premier League Kroos. He’d be really cheap too. If we go Saka route – starboy had a good month with 1 assist and 3 goals. 2 of them were vs Liverpool and assist vs Nottingham. Also he scored a winning goal vs Leeds, so yeah, he made some difference. If he wins – he’d be most likely 84 rated card with some decent stats for RMRW, but doubt he’d be expensive. He needs to be higher rated to get into people’s teams. Still would be deserved and nice winner.

Next up we have Leandro Trossard from Brighton. Until the last game vs Chelsea – he was the only goal scorer of Roberto De Dzerbi in Brighton. 5 goals in 6 games, with a hat trick against Liverpool, goal against Chelsea and goal against Manchester City. Trossard having a very good season with 7 goals and 1 assist and I’m happy to see him thriving. If he wins – he’ll be 84 rated card, most likely, with some very nice stats. I’d predict his card to be around 30-40k, just due to the fact that he has some nice stats on a card and would be useful.

Next up I finally have Erling Haaland, but as I’ve said – Norwegian Terminator is not the first favorite in my list. Still, he managed to score 6 goals and get 2 assists, but most of them were from a game vs Manchester United with 3+2, so in the next few games he got “only” 3 goals. I’d say this isn’t enough to justify his 2nd POTM in 3 months in England, but pundits and captains opinion might differ. If he wins – he’d be 89 rated POTM, similar to his IF and would worth nearly the same as his IF (I’d assume). So, around 500-600k, maybe a bit cheaper, as his NIF went lower and lower in the past few weeks.

And the last, but not least: Miggy Almiron from Newcastle. Paraguayan player had an insane month with some amazing goals, nearly every goal that he scored deserves a highlight montage. 6 goals in 6 games, most consistent player in October and deserves to be named POTM. He’d be cheap POTM, but I think they should give him 84 rated card, just to make him a bit more usable. Miguel deserves it and I doubt that many people would disagree with me.

So yeah, that’s a wrap for this month, it’s still hard and unusual to write as we don’t have proper rating gradation for POTMs, but I hope they’ll update it and it’ll be at least like it was in the past. Thank you for reading this article and as always I’m welcome to discuss it on Twitter.
