FIFA 23: Player of The Month Predictions for La Liga - February
Hello and welcome to La Liga POTM Predictions for February. Mates, it was a hard month. Honestly finding 6 players was hard. Even finding 4 players was hard. So let’s see how I did and overall how the month went.
Let’s see who performed the best this month. Only team that won all the games this month is Barcelona. Overall they are having wonderful season in La Liga. They scored 45 goals and conceded only 7. So, I think it’s time to honor the man himself – Marc Andre Ter Stegen. He had another fantastic month with 3 clean sheets in 4 games and conceded only 1 goal vs Betis this month. He had few very good performances, especially in last match day vs Cadiz. MATS haven’t had a special card yet and that’s confusing me, as he’s having very consistent season in La Liga. So, if he wins – he’d probably be 89 or 90 rated card with decent stats and links. Rarely came up vs him this year, but it’ll may change with POTM. Or he’ll just be a good fodder.
I mentioned Betis previously, so I must mention the leader of Betis for this month. Sergio Canales had bright month with 3 goals and 2 assists in 4 games. He was quiet vs Barcelona, but after that he performed well. 1 goal in 3-4 defeat vs Celta, 1 goal and 1 assist vs Almeria and 1 goal and 1 assist in 2-1 win over Valladolid. He also had a nice IF this month, so his potential TOTW with 88 or 89 rating would be great and useful card, despite POTMs being somewhat meh this season. I’d expect around 70k for his SBC.
Another player who had a good month – Marco Asensio from Real Madrid. He, surprisingly, was consistent. Ge scored 3 goals in 3 wins and was actually good. Apart from him – Benzema is also a candidate with 2 goals and 2 assists in 4 games. I thought Benz was kinda boring, so went with Marco Asensio. His IF would be pretty average, but boost can be nice. Still his WC card would be better and it’s cheap anyway so I dunno what to expect. I’d say 87 rated card, if he wins and would be around 50k.
Speaking about striker who performed – Lewa was good again. Not as good as in some months before, but 2 goals and 1 assist in 4 games is still fine. If he wins – he’d get 93 rated card and would be worth quite a lot if we look at his 92 SBC. Still find that SBC ridiculously priced.
And then 3 players left. I honestly tried hard, but even when teams went unbeaten last month (like Atletico) – I couldn’t find a player who performed well at least 2 games out of 3 well. So we’re left with 3 players:
Florian Lejeuene from Rayo Vallecano who sit at 6th place in La Liga and having another good season, like a last one. Lejeuene was solid in all 3 games: kept cs vs Almeria, scored a goal in 1-1 draw vs Sevilla and was decent vs Getafe. If he wins – he’d probably be 87 rated card as he already has 85 rated one. He’d be probably cheap and worth around 30k if he manages to win it.
Cyle Larin was good for Real Valladolid with 3 goals in last 4 games and 2 in February. He scored an important winner vs Sociedad and also scored vs Betis which wasn’t enough, as his team lost 2-1. Overall, there’s a lack of nominees – so he might get it. If he wins he’d be cheap and lower rated.
And the last option for me is Aleix Garcia from Girona. Statistically he is one insane level, he’s having an amazing season and plays on amazing level if we go by stats. Girona also had a good month with 2 wins and 1 defeat. Aleix got 1 assist and 2 MOTMs. So yeah, if he wins – he’ll be around 84 rating and will be very cheap and useless card, that’s why I’m not looking forward for him, but still he should be noticed.
Pretty dull month, I’ll be honest. I think it’s going to be between Canales and MATS and overall Canales was more important, but MATS deserves it over the course of the season. We’ll wait and see, at least nominees! Let’s hope I’ll get some of them correctly.
