FIFA 23: Bundesliga POTM Predictions - March
Hello and welcome to Bundesliga Player of The Month Predictions for March. It was a bit of hectic month, leader changed, top 4 changed a bit too and battle for relegation had somewhat interesting turn of events.
Let’s start this month with bottom of the barrel teams. We’ve had Bochum winning 2 games out of 3 and climbing back up to 14th spot from 18th. Main hero for them was their goalkeeper – Manuel Riemann who managed to keep 2 Clean Sheets in 2 wins and won 2 MOTM awards and got into Kicker TOTW twice. He had great game vs Koln in 2-0 win with 7 saves and had even better performance vs RB Leizpig with 10 saves in 1-0 win. He recently got robbed of an IF, so his POTM wouldn’t be as good as he should – but still – solid fodder for very cheap price. I expect 86 rated card for like 10k.
Another candidate from team that is trying top escape relegation is Marius Bulter from Schalke. Fun fact – Schalke is unbeaten for 8 games and still sit only at 17th spot. They won 2 games and drew 7, so you understand how bad situation was before last few months. Bulter was a hero for them in the last 3 games this month: he scored 1 goal in 1-1 draw to Augsburg, 1 goal and 1 assist in 2-2 draw vs BVB in big derby and got a goal in 2-0 win vs Bochum. For sure he’ll get nominated. If he wins – he sadly won’t be a very good POTM Card, but still – it’s more about to highlight what he managed to achieve over this month. He would be around 86 rating and would worth also like 15k at max.
Next up I’m moving to the higher ups of the table and one player that impressed me from Freiburg, that went unbeaten this month with 1 win and 2 draws – Ritsu Doan. Japanese international played well and got 2 important goals for Freiburg in their race to achieve UCL spot in tense battle with other teams. Doan got a goal in 2-1 win vs Hoffenheim in the last minute of the game and also scored a goal in 1-1 draw to Mainz. Not anything spectacular, but it wasn’t the biggest month in Bundesliga, so at least I feel like I should mention him. Feel like he had a lot of special cards this year already, so this one would be somewhere in between his TOTY Honorable Mention and WC TOTT – around 86 and would be worth like 20k? Yeah, same as others. But trust me, we’re going to get someone who’s higher than 86!
And that someone is my personal favorite this month – Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen. They won 3 out of 3 games in style and had some sick results like 2-1 win over Bayern Munich. Frimpong didn’t do a lot in Bayern game, but he scored and assisted in both of 2 other games. He scored 1 goal and got 1 assist in 4-1 win over Hertha and got 1 goal and 1 assist in 3-2 win over Werder Bremen. His POTM would be one of the better RBs in the game with 88 or so rating (would enjoy a bit higher, but that will be his TOTS) and would cost somewhat around 100k. His WC Phenom card costed around that, so I expect as game progressed – this POTM would be around that price too, because his 86 IF is now around 30k only.
And last but not least we’re moving to Dortmund, to Borussia, as I have 2 candidates from BVB. Rapha Guerreiro and Marco Reus. Out of 2 – Reus is less likely, but he scored 3 goals in 2 games. He scored 2 goals in 6-1 win over Koln and scored 1 goal vs RB Leipzig in very important game. Reus didn’t play in a derby vs Schalke, so we’ll see if he gets nominated. If he wins – he’d get close to that Centurions card and would worth around 200k or so I think, because he’d be 89 rated. Now, about Rapha – he didn’t play vs Leipzig, but managed to get 1 goal and 1 assist vs Schalke in 2-2 draw and got 1 goal and 2 assists in 6-1 win over Koln. So yeah, both played only 2 games, but feel like both should be nominated. Rapha would be probably… CM as a surprise and would be 89 card. He’d be very decent card and would be useable even now, so let’s see… I’d say around 120k for his card? Because he’s not as hyped as Reus for example. But if you remember his last year’s Shapeshifter card – he was really nice card.
So yeah, that’s my 6 players that I’d probably nominate for POTM. Of course there might be a surprise and someone from Bayern, but I couldn’t really find 1 special player. Everyone had a decent game, but no one had a good full month. Maybe Kimmich? But that’s it.
I see Frimpong winning an award, if BVB will really get 2 nominees – so votes would split and Frimpong would run away with an award. He’d be the most usable card and to be fair – Bayer had the best month out of all teams in Bundesliga.
