Hello, hello, hello how long. Hello and welcome to Team of the group stage Predictions for FUT 22.

TOTGS is exciting for me, as I really like this promo, unlike a lot of people. I honestly dunno why people hate this promo, while we get crazy cards before or at the start of December.

This year’s TOTGS isn’t an exception. A lot of strikers, midfielders and defenders performed well over the course of 5 weeks, and we should get some bangers.

I’ll start with best performing team so far – Bayern. Lewa got 9 goals and 1 assist in 5 games and it’d be kinda insane if he doesn’t get a special card once again. It’s a lock in my eyes, best performer in UCL (or at least top 2). His teammate Leroy Sane had a very good campaign too with 4 goals and 4 assists in 5 games and he was praised by a lot of people for his performances. And that goal vs Dynamo Kiev was soo good.

Next best performing team in UCL is Ajax. They smashed their group and cruising and bruising to the next round of knockouts from the first place in group. Sebastian Haller and his 11 contributions (9 goals and 2 assists) – probably the best debut performance in UCL in history, right? Him and Ajax is a very good match and it’s a shame that Ajax didn’t register him last year for Europa League. His teammate Antony is another candidate from Ajax. 1 goal and 4 assists probably will be enough for him to get a special card.

Next up we have 3 English clubs. Liverpool got 5 wins in 5 games; Mo Salah had a very good campaign so far with 6 goals. Should be another IF for him. Then we have Manchester City and my favorite Joao Cancelo with 5 assists from LB position and then we have Chelsea with solid defense. I included both Andreas Christensen and Reece James. At first, I had Rudiger, but he had a promo card recently, so that’s why I decided for Christensen later.

It’s funny, but I’m not including anyone from PSG, despite their progression from group. But I include Christopher Nkunku for his insane contribution and carrying Leipzig with 7 goals and 1 assist in those 5 games. Insane numbers, right?

I have 2 players from Manchester United. Feels like they were instrumental for their progression from kinda hard group. Cristiano Ronaldo scored 6 goals, Bruno got 5 assists, good numbers for both and both should get some sort of special card.

From Real Madrid I’ve decided to use Courtois as they kept 3 clean sheets in 5 games and only conceded 3 goals (2 from Sheriff in 1 game). There are a lot of options for GK, but I was deciding between Thibaut and Donnaruma and opted for Courtois, as they also finished first in group.

There are some minor options like Pote from Sporting, who was the main man for them and Sporting managed to overcome BVB and pass to the next round of UCL, great success for them. There’s also Dzeko for his goals for Inter to progress them from group for the first time in 9 years (I think). Darwin Nunez from Benfica and Adeyemi from RB Sazlburg scored 3 goals each and still have a chance to progress with their clubs, so we might see one of them (or both?) in TOTGS. Maybe Adeyemi will be Silver Stars.

And there are options from EL: Rice, Toko-Ekambi, Wirtz, Daka, and from Conference League: Laborde, Abraham. I expect some cards from those leagues to be included.
