FIFA 22 Player of the Month Predictions: Serie A September POTM
We’ve got something new this FUT. We’re getting Serie A POTM. It’s a completely new POTM and I still have no explanation of rules and how many candidates are there, but here we are.
I’ve decided to cover 6 candidates for September. Maybe it’ll change later and I’ll add few more or remove few of those, but for now – I settled on 6 picks, as I usually do for main leagues (apart from Ligue 1).
Serie A POTM is very nice idea, there are a lot of meta cards and overall Serie A teams were popular last few years. Yeah, Ronaldo left this summer, but it’s not an end to the world and we have loads of interesting playersperformances this month too. And I had a lot to choose from. Let’s start, shall we?
At first – I have Antonio Candreva. He now plays for Sampdoria. Candreva himself had a nice month. He got 2 goals and 2 assists in 4 games. Sampa didn’t win a lot of games: they drew with Inter 2-2, won vs Empoli 3-0, lost 3-2 to Juve and 4-0 to Napoli. Candreva got 1 goal and 1 assist in both games vs Juventus and Empoli. I think he has a chance at nominee at least. His FUT card wouldn’t be exceptional or anything. He’d be decent winger with low pace. Doubt that he’d be expensive (around 40k or so) and 84 rated card.
Next up I have Ante Rebic from Milan. It was hard to choose 1 player from Milan, as they had a good month (3 wins, 1 draw to Juve), but no player was consistent enough. Maybe Mike Maignan was good in all 4 games, but I went with Rebic who got 1 goal and 2 assists to his name. Rebic got 2 assists in 2-0 win over Lazio and got 1 goal vs Juventus away. In a game vs Venezia and Spezia he didn’t play that well (in Venezia game – Theo played the best and vs Spezia it was a bit hard game for Milan and no one was exceptional). Rebic card would be really nice POTM for the first few months. He’d be 86 rated winger with some sick stats. I’d expect him to be worth around 100–120k. Maybe even more due to nice links (Kessie and Theo, for example).
Then I move to clubs that I’ve chosen at least 2 players from each one. Let’s start with Inter. They had a decent month with 2 wins and 2 draws. They are scoring for fun (they scored 14 goals in 4 games this month) and conceding loads (6 goals in 4 games this month). 2×2-2 draws vs Atalanta and Sampdoria, 6-1 win over Bologna and 3-1 win over Fiorentina. First one is Nico Barella. Nico had a good month with 1 goal and 2 assists to his name. 1 goal vs Bologna, 1 assist vs Fiorentina, 1 assist vs Atalanta. Barella is one of the most popular cards at the start of the year, his 84 rated NIF looks good and his POTM would be very nice card for the start of the year. He’d be 87 rated card and would worth… Around 150–200k in my opinion. Very Meta suited, very nice all around stats, nearly club 80 stats. Nice links too.
Next player from Inter is Edin Dzeko. 4 goals this month: 2 goals vs Bologna, 1 vs Fiorentina and 1 vs Atalanta. He’s getting old, but like a fine wine – he’s getting better. I mean, he’s 35 years old and still scoring for fun, while just moved clubs. He already got 1 IF for Inter for Bologna game and it wouldn’t surprise me if he’ll get POTM too. His card would be 87 rated POTM and would cost around 100k or so. Some decent stats, some good links, but not very usable in my opinion. Yes, he’s tall, strong, 5* WF, but kinda slow. May be very nice in 2 ST formation and good with headers, but that’s all.
And last but not least. Napoli. Perfect month from Napoli under Spaletti. He came, he saw and he improved Napoli. 6 wins from 6 games, 1st in table and cruising vs opponents. Napoli won all 4 games: 2-1 vs Juve, 4-0 vs Udinese, 4-0 vs Sampdoria, 2-0 vs Cagliari. First player that I have from Napoli is Kalidou Koulibaly. CB and leader of defense performed exceptionally well for Napoli this month: 1 winning goal vs Juventus, 1 goal and 1 assist vs Udinese and also he managed to keep 3 clean sheets in 4 games. Overall very good month from big man and if he wins POTM – he’ll be one hell of a card. Very fast this year. He’d be 88 rated card and would worth a lot. Koulibaly NIF worth around 35k, so his POTM would be 250–300k in my opinion. He’d be a card for a looong time and would be completed by many people in my opinion.
Next up from Napoli is their leader and captain: Lorenzo Insigne. Lorenzo had a good month too: 1 goal vs Cagliari, 2 assists vs Sampdoria, 1 assist vs Udinese. Lorenzo played well this month, as a whole Napoli. May be not the most impressive numbers, but still good stuff from a small man. Insigne POTM would be 88 rated card too, similar to Koulibaly. And would worth between 150–200k, IMO. His NIF is 20k, so in my eyes, his POTM would be 10x that price. Very good option with sick finesses for squads.
And the last player from Napoli is Victor Osimhen. The most expensive African player in history delivering for Napoli. Last season he started well, but got injured, so it’s his redemption arc. 4 goals in 4 games this month, also 1 penalty won: goal vs Udinese, 2 goals vs Sampa, 1 goal and penalty won vs Cagliari. Very impressive month from Nigerian international. If he gets IF and POTM – he’d be one very sick card for the start of the year and wouldn’t be too expensive. Let’s pretend and imagine that he gets IF on Wednesday and POTM – he’d be 86 rated card with some very good squads. He’d be worth 100–200k, most likely closer to 200k and I’d complete him really fast I think.
First POTM for Serie A already looking fantastic and I’m looking forward to see how it’s done and design is interesting to me too.

I think it’s going to be Napoli player: best results and most dominant team of the month and a lot of cool candidates. Wouldn’t surprise me if we’ll see Dzeko too, but depending on his FUT card – it might be pretty underwhelming POTM. Would like to see someone more usable.
