Hello and Welcome to January Player of The Month predictions for Serie A. This month is harder than usual. Due to Cup Games, Super Cup games – there were not a lot of games to choose from.

There are few teams that went unbeaten this month, but not many players performed consistently over whole set of games.

For example – Inter won 23 games, drew vs Atalanta, won Cup game, won Super Cup and everything is fine for them, but no one stood out. Bastoni played well vs Lazio, scored and assisted, but that’s his only stand out game. In a game vs Atalanta they kept Clean Sheet, but that’s more on Handanovic, who was outstanding. In a game vs Venezia – Dzeko, Barella scored and they didn’t keep a clean sheet. Overall hard to choose one player from Inter. If it’d be my choice – I’d go with Bastoni. He already has 3 IFs, so his POTM would be 89 rated with some decent stats. He’d be worth around 60k I guess and would be usable for some of first owner Serie A squads.

Next team that had decent month: Roma. They lost 2 games vs Milan and Juventus in some dramatic fashion and won 2 games. They are very high scoring team and that’s surprising from Mourinho. But he’s having fun with Roma, so it’s all good. Neutrals are having fun and Roma fans maybe too (maybe they are losing their mind after game vs Juventus tho). Tammy Abraham started new year very well: 1 goal in 3-1 defeat vs Milan, 1 goal in 3-4 defeat vs Roma and 2 goals in 4-2 win over Empoli. 4 goals in 4 games and it’s looking good for Tammy. He found his foot in Italy and already scored 10 league goals. I’m happy for Tammy. If he wins POTM – he’ll be 86 rated card, which will cost around 20k or so. Good foddah, I guess.

Speaking about Juventus. They had another good month and they are now in proper run for 4th place. Even tho they drew to Milan and Napoli , they won their game vs Roma, Udinese. Paulo Dybala is my choice from Juve with 2 goals in those 4 games. I know that it’s a bit random, but he’s the best striker Juve had before Vlahovic signing. I dunno how his contract talks will go, he may leave Juve soon. But his FUT item loved by many people – and a lot of them are wanting his special card. If he’ll get POTM – he’d be 89 rated card with some sick stats and dynamic image (most likely). Pricing Dybala is fun. I’d say he would cost around 200k, despite not having any special cards before. Yeah, most likely that because of popularity?

We move to the actual surprises of the month. First up we have Spezia. They lost only 1 game this month, but won 3 out of 4 games and out of relegation zone by now.4 wins out of 5. They won vs Milan in mad game (even tho Milan was robbed a bit), won vs Genoa (relegation enemies) and vs Sampdoria, who are in similar position to them. Next game they have Salernitana, and it’s winnable too. Highlight of Spezia month was Daniele Verdy, who recently got cool FUT card, but he’s also a runner for POTM. 2 assists and 1 goal: vs GenoaMilan assists and winning goal vs Sampdoria. If he gets POTM – he will get lower rated POTM and would cost around 10k or less. Not that exciting.

And the last contender is Giacomo Raspadori. Sassuolo won 1 game, drew 2 and lost one. Raspadori scored 3 goals in those games: 2 vs Empoli and 1 goal vs Torino and he was very good. He’s scouted by Inter, so big money move incoming for him. He has 7 goals and 4 assists this season. Overall – his POTM would be pretty bad. 74 goes to 80 then it goes to 83. It’ll be 83 rated POTM and would cost around 10k, but should be free, really.
