FIFA 22: Player of the Month Predictions - Serie A December POTM
Hello and Welcome to December Player of The Month predictions for Serie A. Last month was won by Hakan Calhanoglu surprisingly to me over Pasalic, but hey, at least I had him in my predictions. This month should be kinda close too, but we’ll see how it goes.
There’re few teams that went unbeaten this month: Juventus, Inter, Fiorentina. Atalanta and Lazio had only 1 losses, same goes to Empoli, Torino, Sassuolo, Udinese and Milan. A lot of teams had a successful month, so let’s cover players from those teams.
I’ll start with Domenico Berardi from Sassuolo who had a very good month with 1 goal and 3 assists in 5 games this month. It all started with 2-2 draw vs Napoli (1 assist there), continued with 2-2 draw (1 assist there) and also 1 goal and 1 assist vs Lazio, which was the best Sassuolo game this month. He finished previous month strong too with 2 goals and 1 assist in the last 2 games. He is in a good form, feels like he’s never leaving Sassuolo, he’s proper legend there at the age of 27. He already has 8 goals and 6 assists this season, very bright season for Domenico. If he gets POTM – he’d be 87 rated, as he already had 1 IF and would cost around 75k or so. Shouldn’t be more but would be a seriously nice option. Sadly, I can’t see him winning it, as I have him on the lowest odds so far.
Gerard Deulofeu would be nice option for POTM too with 3 goals and 1 assist in 4 games. He had 2 goals vs Cagliari, 1 goal in 3-1 loss vs Empoli and 1 assist in mad 4-4 draw vs Lazio. So basically, he got 1 contribution per game. Overall, Udinese performing decent this season. They sit at 14th spot, but 9 points away from relegation zone, so they should be safe. Deulofeu proper leader of Udinese after De Paul left, so yeah. He had 6 goals and 2 assists this season so far. He recently got 82 IF, so his potential POTM would be 86 rated card and it would remind people of that Milestones card from last year, which was fun and cool for that time at the game. Would worth around 60k, in my opinion, maybe less. Shouldn’t be expensive.
If I had to choose 1 candidate from Milan – it probably would be Frank Kessie. He had a decent month with 3 goals. Should’ve been 4 goals, but it was canceled vs Napoli, so yeah, we stay at 3. Milan lost that game vs Napoli, otherwise their month would be unbeaten. Kessie scored 2 goals vs Empoli, 1 goal vs Salernitana. Not the hardest opponents, but still. Goal is a goal. IF he’d win POTM – he’d be 87 rated card too, like his Rulebreaker and I think he’d be cheaper than his Rulebreaker card. That sits around 100-150k, so I expect it to be 100k-120k personally. Would be nice untradable to have, and he has some cool links in Milan with new Winter Wildcard Promo and also Ivory Coast links in Zaha+Cornet and also… don’t forget about Irish links too!
And now we move to big 3, that I consider main candidates. From least likely to most likely, based on positions of those teams in the league and their performances over this month.
Dusan Vlahovic had another sensational month. I mean, he just can’t stop scoring. 1 goal in 3-1 win vs over Sampdoria, 1 goal in 3-2 win over Bologna, 2 goals in 4-0 win over Salernitana and 1 goal in 2-2 draw vs Sassuolo. Vlahovic equaled CR7 record of most goals in calendar year in Serie A and that’s very impressive. Vlahovic scored 16 goals and assisted 2 in 19 games this season and it’ll be interesting to see where he goes after this season, because he’s not extending his contract with Fiorentina. Shame, but that’s reality in football. Fiorentina may get in Euro Cups after a lot shit years. Vlahovic got 2nd IF already and his potential POTM would be 87 rated with some decent stats for a striker. High chance of him winning it, but there are 2 more candidates. Would cost around 40k.
Number 2 in my list is Juan Cuadrado from Juventus. It seems like Juve found their groove this month and won 4 of their last 5 games. They conceded only 1 goal in those 5 games, even tho opponents were from the bottom of the table, apart from Bologna. Others were in relegation zone or close to it. Cuadrado scored in 2 games, 1 goal vs Genoa and 1 goal vs Bologna and finally got that sweet IF in FUT. So his potential POTM would be even better – 87 rated card, nearly Gullit Gang for right back and he’s fast and has a very nice links. Dream for all your squad builders. Would cost around 150k or so, even tho his IF is cheap – I think 87 Cuadrado would worth quite a lot.
And the last, but not least – Inter. They won 5 out of 5 their last games in Serie A and looking comfortable at 1st spot in the table, 4 points ahead of Milan. Overall, their form is Gucci over the last few months and I’m happy for Simone Inzaghi, hopefully he wins a title in Inter, he’s a very good manager. There are a lot of players who performed well over this month in Inter, but I selected 3 most important in my eyes. Denzel Dumfries managed to keep 5 CS in 5 games and scored 3 goals in those games. He scored important goals vs Roma and Torino and finally looking good, because he wasn’t at his best at the start of the season and had me worried. But as big Denzel Dumfries fan I’m happy that he’s playing well. His POTM would be only 86 sadly, despite his OTW being 84 rated. He hasn’t had any performance-based cards, so his upgrade would be 82>84>86. If he gets another IF and POTM it’d be 87 POTM, which is only 1 rating higher than his OTW. Honestly, I’d say he would worth around 50k and that’s it. Nice, but not fast RB.
Next up I have Lautaro Martinez. He had a very good month too with 4 goals and 1 assist in 4 games, because he was benched in a game versus Roma. He didn’t perform well vs Torino, but apart from that – it was a good month for Lautaro, who recently got his first IF this year, so his POTM would be 88 rated and would have some sick stats. And wouldn’t cost a lot, as he’s cheap this year. I’d say 100k or so. Would link nicely to some other players in that league.
And the last one I have is Hakan Calhanoglu. It’s funny how he had even better month than last one. He had 2 goals and 4 assists in those 5 games. 1 goal and 1 assist vs Roma, 1 goal and 1 assist vs Cagliari and 2 assists vs Salernitana. He is my favorite, but wouldn’t be surprised if we’ll see another person winning POTM. Hakan would be 88 rated POTM and would cost around 70k in my eyes. Few more upgrades and he’d have very nice card :P
Overall, month was dominated by Inter and I fully expect them to win an award. One out of 3, I’ll be really surprised if we’ll see someone who I didn’t mention in the article. Very fun month in good league.
