FIFA 22 Player of the Month Predictions: Ligue 1 September POTM

Hello and welcome to Ligue 1 POTM Predictions for September. Compared to August this month was quiet, and we probably shouldn’t get a very expensive POTM (not Mbappe level for sure). Let’s see what Ligue 1 offered to us this month and potentially predict POTM for September.

There are a lot of mixed results over the month, no team won all 3 games. Apart from PSG, but they are in different world. Yes, they struggled in a few games, but managed to comeback and win all of them.

Only other team that went unbeaten this month is Lorient. They got 2 wins and 2 draws and only player that I can think for POTM from Lorient is: Armand Lauriente (sounds similar to team name too). He got 2 goals out of 4 that Lorient scored. They actually managed to win over Lille (who are ex champions) and Nice (team that looking really good this season) and drew with Lyon. They had very tough schedule. Lauriente would be 82 rated POTM and would cost around 20k or so. He had some nice stats on his card, but nothing exceptional and 33.

Teji Savanier from Montpellier had a good month, despite Montpellier performing averagely. Savanier always stays on top and this month wasn’t an exception. He had 1 goal and 2 assists in 4 games. 1 assist in 2-0 win over Saint-Etienne, 1 goal in draw vs Troyes, 1 assist in 3-3 thriller vs Bordeaux. He always rated highly by L’equipe and always has a good rating. If he gets POTM – he’d be nice 85 rated card with some decent stats. Would worth around 50k in my opinion, despite having low pace. Can be a good card for a first few months.

Then I have 3 main candidates that I wanted to cover and that have a main shot at award in my opinion.

Starting off with Andy Delort, who recently became one of my favorite players in football. He moved his club in summer from Montpellier to ambitious Nice and already delivering there. This season in 7 games he managed to score 4 goals and get 1 assist. During September – 2 goals and 1 assist. Nice had a good month, apart from Lorient blunder. They won 2-0 vs Nantes, with Delort assist. They drew 2-2 to Monaco, with Delort goal. And won 3-0 vs Saint-Etienne with Delort goal. His POTM would be really fun for a start of they year. Nice 86 rated card with some good stats, despite being 33. Some of you don’t care about skills – perfect striker for you. Has a hyper-link to Atal too, so linking him isn’t a problem. Would worth around 60k, in my opinion. If he’ll be in voting – he’d get my vote.

Next player I have is Wissam Ben Yedder. Monaco had a weird month, but feels like they are back on track with 2 wins in the last 2 games, 1 draw and 1 loss before that. Fan favorite Ben Yedder performed this month well: 4 goals in 4 games. Half of those goals were penalties, but doubt that it matters much. 1 goal in 2-2 draw vs Nice, 2 goals in 3-1 win vs Saint-Etienne (holy moly, they had a rough month) and 1 goal in 3-1 win over Clermont. When I was starting this article – I didn’t expect NIF Ben Yedder to be worth around 35k. So this makes his potential POTM very expensive. Most likely between 300–400k, I guess. Not sure how he is in game this season, but with finesses being good this year – he can be very OP. He’d be 87 rated card with some sick stats on his card too.

And the last player that I’ll cover – surprisingly to me: Ander Herrera. Herrera had a very good month. Got 2 MOTMs, scored 2 goals and was a leader of PSG. PSG, as I’ve mentioned before – had a flawless month in Ligue 1 with 4 wins out of 4 games: 4-0 vs Clermont (2 goals for Herrera), 2-1 win over Lyon, 2-1 win over Metz and 2-0 win over Montpellier. So yeah, despite Herrera performing well – his FUT card isn’t the best in my eyes, even with 2 upgrades. Maybe he’d be a nice option to link all PSG attackers, but don’t think it’s really needed. If we’ll get him –he’d 84 rated card and would worth around 60k in my opinion.

Overall, Ligue 1 POTM this month seems a bit boring to me, I can’t even predict a winner. I hope for Delort – but wouldn’t be surprised to see anyone else. Maybe some wild candidate will appear instead of those who I mentioned and he’ll win an award. We’ll see. I’d rather not to get too expensive POTM at the start of the game.
