Hello and Welcome to February POTM Predictions for La Liga. Lately it’s been tough to write La Liga POTMs, due to lesser amount of games being played and due to release date of voting. I’m writing it on 22nd of February, due to last game for POTM being counted was played 21st. And voting will probably be released on 23rd. Yeah, it’s a race against time and I’m not too pleased with it, but here we are. I’m not complaining, I’m trying to be more honest with you.

There were only 3 games for most teams in the league, so there were not a lot of good candidates and I’m trying my best to find 6 good picks. There will be players from 6 different clubs, as we continue the trend with “only 1 player per team” in my predictions.

We’re starting with Vedat Muriqi. Winter transfer of Mallorca came in clutch this month. He was very good in Turkey, he was scoring for fun. But when he moved to Lazio – it all did go wrong, so it just didn’t work out. In Mallorca – he fitted well and managed to score 2 goals and get 1 assist in 3 games. Mallorca won 2 very important matches and lost 1. Those games may be clutch in their survival battle and now they sit exactly 6 points above relegation zone. Muriqi would be 84 rated card and would worth only around 15k, if he wins. Sadly not many people would be interested in it, just because of links, league and how bad card is.

Next player is Iker Muniain. Feels like he’s been playing since forever. Legend of Athletic Bilbao. He managed to get 1 goal and 2 assists in 3 games. Bilbao sitting at 8th position, only 5 points behind Barcelona who are 4th right now. Race for 4th position is interesting in La Liga and Bilbao been playing very well lately. Yes, they lost to Mallorca, but 2 wins in other 2 games, including 4-0 win over their rivals of Real Sociedad, should be enough for Muniain nomination. If he manages to win an award – he’d be either 86 or 87 card (depends on if he gets and Inform or not). And probably would worth around 25k-45k.

Next one I have is Arnaut Danjuma. You may remember him from Bournemouth from last season, he had fun TOTS. Now he’s playing for Villarreal and scores some goals. He scored 3 goals in 1 game, but that maybe enough for nominee from what I saw from previous months. Villarreal had good month with 2 wins and a draw and they are back in UCL race with only 3 points away from Barcelona. Overall they are having mixed season and Danjuma too, but this month felt good for them. Danjuma would be 87 rated card with some really nice stats and probably striker. If he wins – he’d probably cost around 80k coins.

We’re moving to big trio. First one of this trio would be Jordi Alba from Barcelona. Jordi had a good month. I don’t think that anyone disagrees – 1 goal and 2 assists in 3 games, with 2 of them wins vs solid teams. Barcelona under Xavi is still enigma to me, but I’ll put my ball knowledge far away for now. Jordi would be a very cool option to link Future Stars PedriFerran or UEL Fati (if you believe that they are passing Napoli). Overall would be 89 rated and it would be a damn nice card! If he wins it – I’d expect closer to 200k price, as I feel like many people would complete it.

Next one is Thibaut Courtois. I gained loads of respect after few past years of Thibaut. I think he’s one of the better GKs in the world and really consistent. He showed his consistency and good quality over this month with keeping 3 CS in 3 games and by that keeping Real Madrid on a safe distance from Sevilla. Courtois POTM would mean good stuff for links, as Alaba and Militao would welcome their overlord. I think he should be nominated and if he wins – he’d be 92 rated card with some nice stats. I’d say this card would be priced at 90k or so. Good price for a good GK until his TOTS.

And last, but not least. The man, the myth, the legend. For some people (like me) – the devil, the nemesis, the most frightening card in game – Nabil Fekir. He had a very good month with some insane performances. Betis are now 3rd and looking very fine both in the league, in Cup (nearly in final) and in EL (managed to win vs Zenit 3-2 away from home). It’s very good season for Betis and I love it, because I love Manuel Pellegrini, I think he’s one of the most underappreciated managers out there. So yeah, back to Fekir – 2 goals and some good performances even without goals. Even in a game they lost vs Villarreal – he was best player from Betis and showed his class. He’s a leader and whole game organized around him. He’d be 88 rated card and probably would be worth 100-120k. If you missed on his RTTK – best chance to get it again, before he gets TOTS.

I think POTM is up for grabs this month and anyone who I listed has a chance. Personally would like Alba, but Fekir would be a cool option. So would be Courtois. Hopefully I’ll get at least 2 right nominees.
