Hello and Welcome to La Liga POTM Predictions for December month. Last one in 2021, so let’s finish this year strong. Okay, let’s goooooooooo.

December was a tough month in La Liga for some teams. Real Sociedad for example was sitting at the top of the table, but this month they lost 4 games in a row and now sit around 6th spots. Overall table is really close and finding POTM candidates wasn’t really easy. I tried to mix things up, so I included players from 6 different teams, more representation – more fun, less bias.

I’m sure that I’ll miss on some candidates and won’t be able to get perfect predictions score, but let’s at least try to hit some good stuff.

We’re starting with Celta Vigo and Iago Aspas as first candidate. Yes, he got injured in mid December, before last match day, but before that he managed to score 3 goals and get 1 assist. He scored in 3-1 win vs Espanyol (and got assist that game), scored in 2-1 loss vs Valencia, scored 1 goal in 2-1 win over Alaves. Aspas is a leader of Celta and without him team will probably struggle. Aspas is one impressive players, it’s insane which numbers he put in Celta’s team. Celta sit in the bottom part of table, but I doubt that they’ll get relegated. If Aspas will get POTM – he’d be 88 rated with some nice stats for striker. He’d cost around 50k, in my opinion. He should be less of course, but you never know. I don’t think he’ll win POTM, but there’s always a chance for surprise, as we know with La Liga.

Next up I have Goncalo Guedes from Valencia. Valencia won 3 games this month and drew one, in which Guedes got 3 goals and 1 assist. Yeah, most of those contributions were in 1 game against Levante in 4-3 victory (2 goals and 1 assist), but he also managed to score 1 goal in 2-1 win over Elche. He was quiet vs Celta, but shouldn’t matter overall. If he wins – he might be one fun option for squads – he’d be 86 rated ST with some cool stats and could be used as a winger. Guedes putting solid numbers this season with 6 goals and 4 assists already and Valencia at least this season battling for Europe. So, if Guedes wins – he should be around 5070k too. I doubt that he should be more, he’ll be a bit behind the meta, if he’ll be 86, so yeah… for some people it would be a fun card.

Next up I have Alex Moreno from Betis. Betis had a solid month with 3 wins out of 4 games and Alex Moreno managed to perform in 2 of them very well. He managed to get 2 goals and 1 assist in a 4-0 win over Real Sociedad (which was very surprising result) and he also managed to get an assist vs Barcelona and kept CS there too. Alex Moreno already got an IF this FIFA and if he’ll get POTM – he’d get 86 rated POTM. He would look like a very good option for squads. I think he’s one of the main candidates for POTM, at least for me. He will worth around 50k (again, yeah). Maybe a bit more, should be quite popular link towards Pique and some other cards. But still very nice option for your squads.

Then – another wild Moreno appears. Now, it’s Gerard Moreno from Villarreal. He’s already Villarreal legend, especially with amount of goals he scores every year. This month wasn’t an exception. He got 2 goals and 1 assist vs Real Sociedad (poor Sociedad this month) and scored a goal against Rayo in 2-0 win. Gerard Moreno may get IF soon, so his POTM won’t be 88, but he’d be 89 with some nice stats. Problem with him that even if he’s 91+ card – no one really wants to use him, he’s nothing special. I doubt that he would worth more than 70k, but again, I’d say it’s 50k card at max and only due to ratings. I doubt that he’ll win.

Next one is Jules Kounde. One of the most popular defenders in this game might get a nice POTM, right after his previous cards were released. He got Versus cards, but he also had a very decent month in La Liga. Sevilla on a good streak of games vs hard opponents and despite their loss to Real Madrid last month – they still sit 2nd and Kounde one of the reasons for that. In 3 games Sevilla kept 2 cs and Kounde also managed to record an assist vs Atletico Madrid in 2-1 win. Sevilla’s next game vs Barcelona not included in this prediction and it can be changed after that, but I still think he deserves at least nomination. He’d be worth around… 200k, I guess? Because even with Freeze incident his card is worth 220-280k depending on console, so he’s still really popular and a lot of people would use this card.

But the main option for POTM for me – Real Madrid player. They had a very good month, despite drawing last game. They won 3 and drew 1, in those 4 games they kept 4 CS and were dominant in most of their games. Despite their wins – I think it’s fair to highlight their good defense and GK. At first I thought about nominating Militao – if he’d be in vote and potentially win an award – he’d be 86 rated card with some insane stats and would worth 250k I guess? Maybe even more. Very popular card it would be (hello, Yoda). But I managed to opt for Thibaut Courtois. He had a very bright month with 4 clean sheets and even 1 MOTM award. He hasn’t had a lot of job to do in few games, like Cadiz one, but he managed to perform when it mattered vs Atletico Madrid and also had a good game vs Athletic Bilbao. I think, Thibaut should win this award – he’d be 91 rated GK and would worth around 80100k, in my eyes and would be very popular choice, with some nice links, like Alaba OTW or Militao Adidas card.

Of course it’s possible that I missed someone. Maybe someone like Vinicius will be nominated – then he’d be 89 rated POTM, or someone like Gavi (he’s not in FUT, so he won’t have an SBC). But overall I hope this should be close to reality. Hopefully you enjoyed this article and I’m always ready for feedback.
