FIFA 22: Player of the Month Predictions - Bundesliga January POTM
Hello and Welcome to January Player of The Month predictions for Bundesliga. As usual – Bundesliga is really fun, and the league is actually close this season. I know that difference between Bayern and BVB big 6 points and that should be enough for Bayern to win the league, but battles for UCL spots will be fun.
This month was dominated by usual Bundesliga giants: BVB won 3 out of 3 games, RB Leipzig won 3 out of 3 games, Bayern won 23, Leverkusen won 23 games too. Apart from them: Union Berlin went unbeaten and 2 surprises. Furth, worst team in Buli, didn’t lose a game this month: 1 win and 2 draws. Same goes to Bielefeld. I still don’t know how that happened, but it did.
And I’m starting with Bielefeld player: Patrick Wimmer, young Austrian Talent played well in all 3 games, but got on scoresheet only in a game vs Eintracht. He scored and assisted in that game and looked well. If I had to choose other player from Bielefeld – of course it would be Stefan Ortega. Their goalkeeper made some nice saves in that game and kept them in both other games. So, if Wimmer wins – he’ll be 81 rated POTM and would be like 10k. Ortega would be 84 rated POTM and would cost around 20-30k, as he’s pretty cheap and low rated and Bundesliga have other good options.
Moving to another exciting team this month – Bayer Leverkusen. As I’ve said before – they had successful month, but nominating 1 player is hard. I went with easy solution – Diaby who scored 3 goals in 1 game and looked dangerous in other 2 games. Diaby having a nice season and if Bayer won’t choke, like they always do – they should get UCL spot for next season. Also they got Serdar Azmoun from RPL starting from summer, I’ll follow them closer after that. Diaby would get 88 rated card, that would be quite fast option at left wing of French teamBundesliga team. He’d cost around 100-130k, because he’d actually be useful.
Next option is Mo Dahoud from BVB. BVB had successful month with 3 wins out of 3 games. They were having fun: 2-3 wins vs Frankfurt (in amazing comeback) and Hoffenheim, and 5-1 win vs solid Freiburg team. A lot of players performed well, but Dahoud stood out for me with 2 goals and 1 assist. He scored winning goal vs Frankfurt and got 1 goal and 1 assist vs Freiburg. Wasn’t that good vs Hoffenheim, but whole team struggled there. Overall, he doesn’t have a special card, so his POTM would be only 84 rated (sadly). Otherwise it would’ve been pretty cool card to have. That’s why I’m pricing him at 20k max.
Speaking about “max”. Max Kruse from Union Berlin is my next option. They climbed up to 4th spot, surprisingly and surpassing a lot of expectations. Strong team, that struggled at the start of the season, due to participating in Conference League. Anyone completed that 84 rated Kruse card hoping that it’ll go to at least 86? Yeah, me too. It’s still the most the useless Special card I have in my club. Despite that – Kruse had decent month with 2 goals and 1 assist. Not insane numbers, but enough for this month imo. He scored 2 in a win over Monchengladbach and assisted once vs Bayer Leverkusen in 2-2 draw. He’d be 86 rated card and still would be useless as his 84 one. He’d still be a cheap fodder, but no one apart from KruseUnion fans would complete it.
2nd to last player in my predictions is Christopher Nkunku. YES, FINALLY NKUNKU. Haven’t heard about him in 2 weeks and now the break is over. Leipzig won 3 out of 3 and Nkunku was crucial in those wins! 1 goal and 2 assists vs Mainz, 1 goal vs Stuttgart and solid game vs Wolfsubrg. He’s on some insane form this season and with new manager it seems like he’s not stopping too. He’d get 89 or 90 rated POTM, I dunno yet which rating, but still would be insane card! Would cost up to 450k, in my opinion (no matter the rating) and still will be a good option for most of squads.
And finally: Thomas Muller. I’m trying to sneak in Muller as usual, but this time I think he’s actually a favorite. 1 goal and 3 assists in 3 games. Even in a loss vs BMG he got an assist. 2 assists vs Koln, 1 goal vs Hertha. Of course he should be nominated. IMO he finally should win an award, it’s been too long without POTM Muller. It’s mad, that he hasn’t got a POTM in FUT history yet. Class player. His POTM would be 90 or 91 rated card and still won’t be usable. Muller is card that hardly gets used. Even his FB one. Sadly. But it is what it is. Price prediction: 80k, due to high rating.
Of course Lewa can be nominated too, but found it a bit too boring to nominate a lot of players from same team, so yeah, this is it.
To me it’s a battle between 2 CAMs: Muller and Nkunku. I think Nkunku wins it once again. Good option, deserved, but a bit boring.
