FIFA 22: Marquee Matchup Predictions 17th of November
Hello and welcome to another Marquee Matchups predictions. We’re off from international break (and at least no breaks for 4 months, which is nice). So we’re back to club football and there are a lot of good matches here and there.
I’m aiming for a good score this week, especially when there’re a lot of games to choose from. Maybe I’ll miss some games, but excuse me, as I’m trying my best.
Let’s do it:
Liverpool vs Arsenal
Good game in Premier League. Liverpool lost to West Ham just before the break, but still in the leaders group of the league. Arsenal are on a good form since that very rough start. I don’t know what to expect from this game, but Liverpool are very solid at home, so advantage to them. But it’ll be interesting to watch Arsenal vs really top team (which they haven’t played since City game). There’s also Leicester vs Chelsea game. Repeat of last year’s FA Cup and Community Shield. Leicester had somewhat hard start to the season, and their results are mixed, so I dunno what to expect, while Chelsea look good. This is another possible game, so if they’ll ignore Liverpool vs Arsenal, this might be a direction they take.

Barcelona vs Espanyol
Barcelona derby, first game of Xavi back to Barca, stars aligned. Actually fun fact, but: Barcelona and Espanyol on the same amount of points so far. Both are surprises, while Barcelona in a bad way, Espanyol in a good way. Coming from 2nd division, they have some interesting players and their main striker (Raul De Thomas) got called up to National team already. So yeah, I’m sure this game will be watched by many mainly due to Xavi being back at Barca.

Lyon vs Marseille
Sounds like a really good game in Ligue 1. Lyon surprisingly got dominated by Rennais 2 weeks ago, while Marseille still sitting in top 4. Ligue 1 table is really close, so 1 game can change a lot of things. It’s a rivalry between 2 clubs, so I expect very heated game between 2 teams, fans should be massive as well. I still expect Marseille to get a good result, but maybe we’ll see something interesting from Lyon and they’ll surprise Marseille (especially since when they’re playing at home).

Lazio vs Juventus Inter vs Napoli
Another round of Serie A, another 2 good games in that league. First we have Sarri vs one of his ex clubs. Teams sit close to each other, only 3 point difference between 2 teams, but Juventus lost 2 out of 3 last games and not performing convincingly. Inconsistent you could say about Lazio too, they only won 2 out of last 4 games and 1 loss vs Hellas should hurt them a lot. Win for Lazio would put them up to 4th position and win for Juve would make them 5th, if all other results go in favor of those teams.
Inter vs Napoli is the battle on the top of the table. Napoli drew surprisingly to Hellas Verona, while Inter and Milan played 1-1 draw, which favored neither of them last time. This game should be really close, there’s no favorite in this fixture and I hope we’ll see a lot of goals. Play styles of those teams can give us that. Difference between Inter and 2 leaders (Milan and Napoli) is 7 points, so I think they can’t afford to drop more points, especially vs their main opponents.

Wild card game of the week: Fenerbahce vs Galatasaray. Haven’t seen Turkish game in MMs so far, so it’s a perfect opportunity for that. Teams are sitting at 4th and 7th places, but separated only by 1 point. This season in Super Lig is very competitive, like any other year, so if you’ll have time – go and watch this game. With fans inside the stadium it should be a banger, with a lot of battles and emotions!
What to invest in: As per usual – get 1-2 player from each team or just league and you’ll be safe. Requirements are quite easy so far, so I don’t expect anything exceptional.
