FIFA 22: Marquee Matchup Predictions 16th of December
Hello and welcome to Marquee Matchups Predictions. Last week we hit a jackpot with 4 right picks, it was a good feeling and I want to repeat it. We shall continue, as this weekend looks like a good opportunity to repeat that success with another 3-4 right picks.
Let’s do this. Good games in PL, Serie A, Eredivisie, Turkish Super Lig, Bundesliga and even 2.Bundesliga. A bit of mix-mix-mix. Interesting weekend.
Spurs vs Liverpool
Very interesting game in Premier League, as both teams are in good form. Well, Spurs were in good form, but COVID outbreak re-scheduled few of their games and now we don’t know how will they play. Liverpool, on other half, are struggling to score goals in Premier League, but overall they are looking wonderful this season. Spurs need points for Champions League spot race and Liverpool can’t afford to drop points if they want to be in title race until the end of the season.
Hoping for a Showdown card for this fixture too, apart from just MMs.

Real Sociedad vs Villarreal
Only game that I found to be decent to be included in MMs from La Liga is Real Sociedad vs Villarreal. Villarreal slowly climbing in table after mediocre start, while Sociedad comes down and down and down. Their 4-0 loss to Betis should hurt them a lot and they would like a proper revenge. And it’s perfect opportunity for that, as they face Villarreal at home turf.

Feyenoord vs Ajax
Well, one of the biggest games in Eredivisie. Despite Ajax winning UCL group with 6 wins out of 6, smashing PSV 5-0 – they struggle in Eredivisie vs smaller teams and now sit 2nd in table. If they lose to Feyenoord – they’d move to 3rd place. Feyenoord are looking strong this season, attack is fun, midfield is good and defense fine too. Interesting season in Eredivisie and it will be fun to watch this game. Don’t blink or you’ll miss it.

Atalanta vs Roma
Here we go back to Serie A top clubs, once again. Very good game on paper. Atalanta as per usual very enjoyable team for neutrals and their fans, they are in race for title and they still have a lot to offer. Inter are looking solid, Milan and Napoli lost a bit of their power and looking weaker than Atalanta, so it’s in their hands. Roma under Mourinho are ultra fun team. They score a lot, concede a lot, not your usual Mourinho, but they can get 4th place, I believe if they will be a bit more consistent. Yes, they are weaker than top teams, but they should win constantly against lower teams in table, and it’s not the case. Anyway I expect a very fun game between those 2 teams!

Bayern Munich vs Wolfsburg
Only good game I found in Bundesliga. On paper it looks good, but in reality – Wolfsburg are too turbulent this season and a lot of stuff went wrong for them this season. Not only average position after 4th place finish last year in Bundesliga, but also 4th place in UCL group, sacking of manager and appointment of new one. Bayern on other hand are cruising and bruising through everything, apart from German Pokal (where they lost 5-0 to Monchengladbach). Overall it should be an easy win for Bayern, but Wolfsburg can make this game interesting.

And the last 2 games that are possible to be in MMs – game from Super Lig between Fenerbahche and Besiktas. 2 teams are separated by 3 points, but both not where they’d like to be, 5th and 7th in table. Should be a very fun and heated game.
And other one: HSV vs Schalke 04. 2 great teams in Bundesliga fighting eachother for… wait. They are in 2.Bundesliga and fighting against each other for Promotion. This is dark times for both teams, but both teams can still get promoted, so it’ll be very fun to watch game.
What to invest in: As per usual – get 1-2 player from each team or just league and you’ll be safe. Requirements are quite easy so far, so I don’t expect anything exceptional.
