FIFA 22: Headliners Predictions
Hello and welcome Headliners Predictions. One of fan-favorite promos return with a blast, and it seems like, they go like last year: before TOTY and with 4-wins-1-time-boost. It should really exciting, as I had fun making this prediction and hope to see a lot of these players in Promo Teams or SBCs or Objectives.
I need to do some explanation of my selections, before we start:
1. I don’t include players that most likely will be in TOTY. That’s why there’s no Cancelo, Lewa, Benzema, Marquinhos. I included Salah, as it was really hard to pass on him and even then, I think he won’t be included.
2. I don’t include players without IFs. Last year we got exception of Fabinho, but overall, they stick to rules. That’s why there’s no TAA for example (he’d be in 1st point too btw). There are a lot of players that had good start to a season, but don’t have IFs: Dybala is one of those examples. Wanted to include him but decided against it.
3. No player that has OTW will be including in this Prediction. It’s just pointless having Upamecano, for example, both as HL and OTW, right, guys?
So, that’s out of the window, let’s move to main thing. I was hesitant of including GK, but I decided to get with Kevin Trapp, who’s really a highlight in Bundesliga. I mean, everyone loves Sommer, but Trapp for me is the reason why Eintracht doing so well and overpeforming on xG. He already had 2 IFs and that would fit HL Theme. There’s a chance that there won’t be any GK, like last year, but felt like Trapp is the move.
Finding Defenders was as hard as finding Nemo and Dori together. Well, I had 0 problems with RBs, there were a lot of them and would be even more if I included Atal and TAA, but I needed someone apart from RBs. But, to cover RBs: Cuadrado is the best Juventus player this season imo, even better than Dybala. He scored 4 goals playing 4 at the back and it’s a good result. He finally got IF and now he’s eligible for HL (in my mind), so here he is. Jonathan Clauss from Lens having another great season, after good last year. 2 goals and 7 assists from him. He should be in here and in my Ultimate Team. And Reece James from Chelsea. He had a very bright start to a season. He dropped off a bit in December, but still he should be in.
Well, that were RBs. Now move to CB. It’s Bastoni from Inter. Yes, only him. And even then – felt like his inclusion is a stretch. 2 IFs for him this year. 2 assists for him and very good form of Inter this year.
Yep, that’s all. There are no more defenders that I found to be good.
Moving to midfielders and I’m not sure if I should cover obvious players: Vinicius, Nkunku, Bernardo, Smith-Rowe, Barella, Rice had 1 or multiple IFs and they are highlights of their teams, that’s why they in my predictions. Bellingham and Tchouameni are my picks for some lower rated, but OP cards. Gnabry missed on TOTW with 3 goals and 2 assists in 1 game and I thought that he’s a must for Headliners. Also including 2 players from minor leagues: Luis Diaz from Porto with 12 goals and 3 assists (how the hell he didn’t get a SIF yet?) and Dusan Tadic from Ajax to show Eredivisie some love, because they aren’t getting enough special cards this year.
For Strikers, it’s pretty obvious: Vlahovic and Simeone from Serie A, Schick from Bundesliga and Mbappe from Ligue 1. I wanted to included David, but I was missing one big player and David was just in WW promo, that’s why he’s not here. Mbappe is fine pick, considering that he won’t get into TOTY (IMO).
Overall, this is it. I mean, we could see some surprises. Of course, it’s hard making Predictions knowing TOTY is soon and you don’t know how EA will do, but I tried my best, so let’s hope it’ll be somewhat close.
Good luck with your packs.
