FIFA 21: Player of the Month Predictions - La Liga February POTM
La Liga POTM for February. As last time – I’m writing this article before last match day, so EALa Liga didn’t announce their nominees yet. Let’s try to predict more than 3 players right and I’ll be satisfied with this article.
I still don’t know why La Liga puts POTM nominees before last match day, it’s weird, but I got used to it.
This month was kinda similar to previous one, where few teams stood out, so I included most players from Real Madrid, Barcelona, Sevilla and Real Sociedad who went unbeaten. Atletico had a decent unbeaten run, but in the end of the month they’ve lost, and no one really stood out to from them.
As per usual – I’m covering options from lower chance of winning to higher chance of winning and starting with Ferland Mendy. He had an impressive month for Real Madrid, kept 3 CS and scored 1 goal. His average rating was nice and overall, I included him, because many fans on twitter suggested him as a nominee suggestion and I agree with them. I still think that his win is unlikely. His potential card would be 86 rated and would cost a lot, obviously. He’s one of the most popular players in FUT – so his card would be kinda similar to FUTMAS from FUT 20. Price prediction for this card: 400k-600k. I don’t think he wins it (again), but pricing should be somewhat close to 500k in my eyes.
Mikel Oyarzabal is my 2nd choice. First one from impressive Real Sociedad side. Oyarzabal scored 2 goals and got 1 assist. It’s not that much, but it’s a honest work. I nominated him mostly because I didn’t find any stand out performer from other side. His potential card would be 90 rated, but still 33 winger. His 88 rated card was worth around 100k, so I expect this card a bit more, somewhat like 150-170k, it’s still 90 rated card with some nice stats. But don’t worry – he might not get nominated at all.
Bono is my choice from Sevilla. They’ve kept 4 CS in all 4 games and Bono was the reason for that. Moroccan GK had few impressive performances and we usually get GK in nominees – so his was first main choice. 2nd choice from Sevilla – Joan Jordan. Both players from Sevilla would be cheap. Bono – would be 86 rated card with some nice stats for GK and would give link KoundeDiego Carlos. Joan Jordan would be 84 rated fodder card. Both shouldn’t worth more than 50k.
Toni Kroos had another great month. Well, I mean – REALLY good month, especially for midfielder. 1 goal and 3 assists, average rating of 8,42, and leader of Real in this month. Everyone mentioned how good Toni is. Here’s the problem – his potential Flashback card would be much better than this POTM. This Kroos’s potential POTM is alright, don’t get me wrong, but he’s just slow. I gave him 60 pace in prediction, but that would be the max of this card. That’s why I’m not giving out investements for this card – it would cost around 110-130k, something similar to Oyarzabal.
Let’s move to main candidates.
Alexander Isak had an amazing month for Sociedad. Like En-Nesyri – he had a very good month. 7 goals in 4 games, 3 goals in 1 game, goal in each game. It’s good to see Isak performing well. Overall – he should safely win POTM, like En-Nesyri last month.
His FUT card would be similar to his Future Stars card. Maybe exactly the same – he should get IF and POTM would be 86 rated card too. It’s a bit of a problem – in my eyes Future Stars card could’ve been a bit better, so situation like this wouldn’t happen (but no one expected him to smash this month so hard and get POTM tbf).
Chances of POTM: 60%
Tips for investing:
I wouldn’t invest in this POTM. He’d be really cheap so no point in investing for him.
Worth investing? No, as I’ve said above – no.
Estimated cost: 60-80k. His Future Stars around 80k – this one might be kinda same value. Maybe even a bit less.
Leo Messi is another choice for POTM. Messi scored goals and got 1 assist, one more goal than last month. If it wouldn’t be for Isak – Messi would be a main candidate for POTM. I think, I just think, that it won’t be enough for Messi to win it. Yes, he had very impressive month, goal in each game and Barca weren’t that bad last month overall (apart from 1 draw – all wins). We’ll see what will happen. Last month he wasn’t nominated at all – Frenkie had a good month and got nominated instead.
His potential card would be 96 rated CF. What can I say about POTM Messi? Very good, central card, with some amazing stats in game and everything like that. Would be expensive, but nice POTM. We haven’t had those in La Liga in a while (probably since last POTM Messi from last season).
Chances of POTM: 25%
Tips for investing: Mainly fodder would be required for him. I doubt that it’d move big for Messi, because it’s already too high. You could invest into some Messi links, but again – it’s a bit weird, I doubt players like Freeze Ousmane will move because of him, or even AlbaDest. As I don’t think he’ll win it – I doubt it’s worth investing in those players.
Estimated cost: 1.7 – 2 million coins. His 95 CF TOTGS worth 1,6-1,7, so I expect POTM worth a bit more. Maybe we’ll see Bruno case – like POTM would be cheaper, but doubt. It’s Messi.
I think Isak will win it. He deserves it. I’ll even vote for him – he had a most impressive month out of all players, so him winning won’t surprise me. Let’s see what will happen, but I hope I’ll be close to reality with this prediction!
