New Year – New Month – New POTM. Let’s discuss POTM for January in Premier League.

Despite a lot of games being played this month – only 1 team smashed this month: Manchester City. One of their players should win POTM no matter what. You could name any player from their team and they deserve POTM: Gundogan, Stones, Ruben Dias, Sterling, KDB – all of them had good month. We’ll cover them later.

Leicester had a good month too, despite losing one game in the end to Leeds. James Maddison had good month with 3 goals and 1 assist to his name, and he’d be a really good CAM in FUT: 88 rated card. Estimated cost of his SBC would be around 100k, I think. His SIF, which is 86 rated card, costs between 60-50k depends on a console, so I don’t think his POTM would cost anything exceptional.

West Ham United had an insane month, probably best in their recent history with only losing 1 game in the end to Liverpool and winning previous 5 (this month). Tomas Soucek became a massive player for them, they kept 3 clean sheets and Tomas Soucek played important part in that, he also scored 3 goals this month and his potential card is very good, I’d say it could be the best DM in Prem for a few months. His IF costs 25k, but he has a chance of SIF card in recent TOTW and I expect it to be around 50k, as he’s getting better and his stats will be improved. So this POTM would cost around 100k-150k. It would be an amazing card, so I expect a price to be a bit higher than usual.

Matheus Pereira performed well for West Bromwich, despite team struggling so much, even under new manager. He scored 4 goals in 1 draw, 1 loss and 1 win and had decent performance in other games too. Sadly his FUT card didn’t receive any IFs before this, so his FUT card would be average at best, he’d be 84 rated with some decent stats. I think he has really low chance of winning it, so it doesn’t matter. Estimated cost of his SBC would be around 60k or so. Don’t expect it to be much higher.

Harry Kane, despite Spurs struggling this month, had a good month before he got injured with 3 goals and 1 assist, so yeah, it’d be another nominee for Kane. I doubt that he’d win, but if he does – he’d get 90 rated card, which would cost around 150k. His 89 is expensive due to it being high rated fodder IF.

Now let’s move to two candidates from City who can win this award.

Ilkay Gundogan. Insane month from City Midfielder. 5 goals in 6 games from midfield is amazing result. He had good performance in every game he played and he’s my favorite to win POTM. Finally, after few struggles and injuries Gundo in a good form.

In terms of FUT – he’d have a good CM card, he might get IF before POTM release, so his potential POTM card would be 87 rated card with balanced stats, which would lack a bit of pace, but still – best Gundo card we’d have in ages. Probably FUT 17 we’ve had decent TOTGS card for Gundo and after that he had few specials, but they were nothing special.

Chances of POTM: 60%

Tips for investing:

I don’t think he’d be a very expensive card, so… 84 cards may rise a bit, but again: he’s not really popular midfielder in FUT, I dunno what will rise. Maybe some City links to him, but again: he’s not KDB TOTY so I doubt we’ll see any rise because of his POTM.

Worth investing? I doubt that it’s worth investing in his SBC.

Estimated cost: 130-170k. His NIF is cheap, I doubt that his potential IF would worth a lot, so this 87 rated card would worth around 150k in my eyes. Something in the middle: not really cheap and not really expensive, because he’s from top league, top club and top nation.

John Stones. Stones had nearly perfect month for defender, he really transformed his game, especially since he started to play together with Ruben Dias. He scored 2 goals this month and had 4 clean sheets in 5 games. He’s another player from City who deserves an award.

In terms of FUT – he’d actually be so similar to his recent Moments card, maybe a bit better in some stats, but overall it’ll be a repeat of his SBC card.

Chances of POTM: 30%

Tips for investing:

Ederson IF Pope IF might rise a bit, but overall I doubt that we’d see a lot of rise because of this card. His SBC costed 150k, this one would be nearly the same, so yeah… doubt that something will rise for his card

Worth investing? No, as I’ve stated above.

Estimated cost: 150k. Same price as his Moments, I didn’t even think for a long time about it. Just same card = same cost.

I think Gundogan or Stones will win it. It should be a City player. I’d love to see Soucek, but imo it’s really unlikely. Both Gundo and Stones would have a nice cards, so it’s a win.
