FIFA 21: Player of the Month Prediction - Ligue 1 September POTM
New FUT – New POTMs. First POTM in Ligue 1 for September.
League started a bit earlier than other top leagues, so teams already played 5 games.
There were some really surprising results, especially PSG slow start to the season. Newcomers of the league – Lens – performed above expectations and got 10 points in 5 games. Up top of the table Rennes with Lille.
Unlike Bundesliga, in Ligue 1 – POTM favorite isn’t clear. As we have only 3 candidates it was hard enough to choose 3 best players, but I tried. Let’s see what will happen, but I hope we’ll get a nice first POTM. Last year we got Osimhen who was cheap and was fun to use at the start of the season, hoping for same story this year.
Montpellier had few candidates from their team, as they’ve scored the most during those 5 games – 12 goals, so to choose only 1 candidate was hard. Same goes for Rennes – whole team performed nicely, 1 candidate isn’t an easy choice.
Overall I expect pretty cheap POTM, as most of the players, who performed well in the League – have pretty mediocre FUT cards.
Let’s start.
Ignatius Ganago is my first choice for POTM. He got transferred to newcomers Lens and took a league by a storm – 4 goals in 4 games, and alongside Gael Kakuta – playing really good football. If not Ganago – it’ll be Kakuta who’ll get nominated with 2 goals and 1 assist to his name.
In terms of FUT – Ganago won’t be an amazing card, he’s currently a Silver, so at max he’ll get 8283 rated card which shouldn’t cost more than 10k honestly. Average stats, hard to link, unpopular nation.
Chances of POTM: 30%
Tips for investing:
I wouldn’t invest in this SBC. Requirements should be 80-82 rated squad at max. Maybe even less, if he wins it. Same goes for Kakuta.
Worth investing? As I’ve stated above – no, it’s not
Estimated cost: 15-20k. 82 rated card, maybe with some decent stats for a starter squad, but not more than that.
Andy Delort
2nd candidate for POTM that has a chance in my eyes for POTM award. Andy Delort is my guy, he has one of the best starter cards in FUT and can produce one of the best starting POTMs in FUT history. He had 3 goals and 2 assists in 4 games. Maybe that won’t be enough due to Teji Savanier having 3 goals and 1 assist from midfield, but man, I’m hoping Delort wins it.
Chances of POTM: 30%
Tips for investing:
Maybe some 84 rated cards. I expect this POTM to be cheap, still, due to unpopularity of a player, nation and club, but still, due to his stats in game – he should worth at least 84 rated squad. I think it’s a fair price for a player like him, so let’s see.
Worth investing? Maybe some 84 rated cards will rise in price, but I doubt. I wouldn’t invest at the start of the game.
Estimated Cost: 30-50k. Wouldn’t say that it can’t be more expensive, but I think 50k is a fair price for 84 rated card with very good stats.
Serhou Guirassy would be my 3rd choice for POTM award. Most deserving player from League Leaders. 3 goals, high average rating and overall best performer from Rennes.
In terms of FUT – I don’t expect a good card. It’s meh card, similar to Ganago, but we’ll see, maybe boosts will be bigger.
Chances of POTM: 20%
Tips for investing:
I wouldn’t invest in this SBC. Similar to Ganago – cheap SBC that wouldn’t be completed by many.
Worth investing? As I’ve stated above – no, it’s not
Estimated cost: 15-20k. 82 rated card, maybe a bit higher, but still won’t be really popular.
There’re few other candidates, like Savanier, Ferhat, Hamouma, but I doubt that they’ll be nominated. If they’ll somehow win – they’ll all be kinda mediocre cards and wouldn’t cost more than 50k in total I think.
I hope that Delort will be nominated and actually will win an award, would be a great card for a first few months, so let’s see what will happen.
