FIFA 21: Player of the Month Prediction - Ligue 1 November POTM
New Month – New POTMs. Let’s discuss Ligue 1 POTM for December.
Well, this month was dominated by mostly 3 teams: Rennes, Lille and Lyon. Lyon smashed this month, won 4 games and drew 1, their 4-3-3 works perfectly and they are sitting at first place.
2nd, on the same points sitting Lille, with same results this month: 4 wins and 1 draw. Their team, despite financial struggles and management struggles – still performs well. We’ll see what will happen after Winter Transfer Window, Lille might sell a lot of players, but I’m not an expert in that some sort of stuff.
Stade Rennais had an awesome month too. 4 wins and 1 loss in 5 games, with some really good defensive performances. I didn’t nominate their player due to no one stand out, but if anyone it’ll be Damien Da Silva. With 1 goal and 3 clean sheets.

Let’s cover 3 main candidates
Let’s start.
Karl Toko-Ekambi is my first candidate from Lyon. There are 2 main candidates from Lyon that can be nominated. Karl Toko-Ekambi scored 4 goals and got 2 assists in 5 games. Tino Kadewere got 3 goals and 2 assists, one of the goals was a winning goal vs PSG, which is important to notice. I went with Toko-Ekambi due to fact that we’re still missing Silver Stars Kadewere card. HE DESERVES IT.
In terms of FUT – he’ll get 86 rated card and would be LW, with some decent stats, but only 3*3*, dunno if he’ll be usable, but he deserves POTM.
Chances of POTM: 50%
Tips for investing:
I don’t think it’s worth investing in this card. He’d be pretty cheap card and fodder will hardly move for him. Skip it if you’re not interested.
Worth investing? I doubt that he’ll be popular and fodder wouldn’t move for him if he wins, so no.
Estimated cost: 50-70k. 86 rated card with some sick stats, but again ruined by 33. Similar to Delort and wouldn’t worth more than him
Yusuf Yazici
2nd candidate for POTM that has a chance in my eyes for POTM award. 2 goals and 1 assist in 5 games for Lille, it’s not much, but he’s the most consistent performer for them. He’s surprise of the season for me from Lille – came from nowhere and started performing, mostly in UEL, but now translated his form to the league too.
In terms of FUT – very good card. 44, perfect CAM and has some good links in Lille alone. Would actually like him to win an award, but I’m not sure he’ll get nominated at all.
Chances of POTM: 20%
Tips for investing:
I don’t expect anything to rise, you can look into some Turkish players but that’s all. Wait for nominees to see if he’ll get nominated.
Worth investing? No, I don’t think it is.
Estimated Cost: 70k. I’d say similar to Toko-Ekambi and Delort. Not popular clubnationplayer. Under radar for most of the people.
Hatem Ben Arfa would be my 3rd choice for POTM award. What a flashback, right? Hatem went back to Ligue 1 and had some insane performances over the past 2 month. In December he got 1 goal and 3 assists in 5 games, and even tho Bordeaux didn’t win much (only 2 out of 5 and drew with PSG) – he still got praised a lot, even in losses.
In terms of FUT – he’d be one sick card that would boost his potential Flashback to even better card. If fans will see him nominated – they’ll vote for him. For sure. I hope he’ll be nominated.
Chances of POTM: 30%
Tips for investing:
I wouldn’t invest in this SBC. I don’t think it’ll be expensive, as it’ll be 84 rated card with some meh stats, but again, it’s BEN ARFA!!
Worth investing?As I’ve stated above – no, it’s not.
Estimated cost: 65-80k. 84 rated card, with 5* Skills to pay the bills and awesome memories, 4* WF, some fun to have with him in game.
There’re few other candidates, as I’ve said: Kadewere and Da Silva can be nominated, but imo, those 3 candidates are more interesting and deserving ones.
I think it’ll be Toko Ekambi. He deserves it, but if people will see Ben Arfa- fan vote will be interesting for sure. I just hope we’ll get a nice option for Ligue 1 Squads.
