FIFA 21: Player of the Month Prediction - La Liga March POTM
La Liga POTM for March. As per usual – I’m trying to be ahead of the curve, but most likely I’ll be late and La Liga will post their Nominees before I’ll finish last sentence of this article.
Overall pretty close month this time. 2 candidates stand out for me, I’ll cover them at the end, as per usual, so let’s start with who I think will get nominated at first, but won’t have a chance to win an award.
First I have Nabil Fekir in my list. Yes, I know that he only had 1 goal this month in 3 games, but that was amazing goal and La Liga recently nominate players for 1 goal in 5 games, so he’s here. He also had 2 other decent enough games. Betis only lost to Sevilla, but overall had a nice month and climbed up in table to a place which would secure them Europa League Spot for next season. Fekir is a leader for them and when he’s playing well – Betis playing well overall. If he wins he’d be either 86 or 87 rated card (depends if he’ll get IF the week I’m writing). And should cost not more than 100k.
Next on the list I have Bono, goalkeeper for Sevilla. Fun part – Sevilla only lost 1 game this month, but Bono didn’t play in it. So yeah. He also scored 1 goal for Sevilla in 90th minute to secure them draw. In 2 other games – he kept 2 clean sheets for Sevilla, one of which was against Betis, their arch-rivals. Bono would be either 86 or 87 rated card too, depends if he’ll get IF or not for a goal he scored. Shouldn’t be more than 70k. In all honesty he should be less, but it is what it is, pricing is a bit hard.
Gerard Moreno is the next candidate. Already some sort of a legend for Villarreal. Not only he carried Villarreal in Europa League (he got 2 MOTM cards), but he also performed well in La Liga lately. Villarreal had some problems in February, but in March they were nearly perfect (if we exclude the game versus Valencia, that they somehow chocked). Moreno got 2 goals and 3 assists. 1 goal versus Valencia, 1 goal versus Cadiz, assist versus Cadiz and 2 assists versus Eibar. Should be at least nominated. His potential card would be 89 rated card and would have some nice stats, but wouldn’t be really excited for fans, in my opinion. SBC would worth around 150k, like Aspas one. Should be really similar card.
Last candidate that should be nominated – Jan Oblak. Not only he kept 2 clean sheets this month, he also made his first penalty save in 3 years versus Alaves and saved 3 crucial points for Atletico, he also had a very nice game versus Real Madrid, where he nearly kept a clean sheet, but Benzema was inevitable. Overall would be fun POTM to have. 93 or 94 rated card, depends if he’ll get SIF for a game versus Alaves. SBC should worth just a bit more than 100k, to be equal to fodder price. Even tho we don’t have 9394 rated fodder yet – Oblak could be the first one.
Let’s move to main candidates.
Karim Benzema is my main candidate for POTM. Overall he had an insane month. 5 goals, 1 assist. Goals against Celta (1 assist versus them too), Elche, Atletico. All 5 goals brought points for Real Madrid and keeping them in title race, which is really exciting this season. Benzema is true carry of Real Madrid in attack and without him I can’t even imagine what Real would do.
Moving to his FUT card – it’d be… either 94 or 96 rated card. 94 if his POTM wouldn’t get upgraded from his Headliner, 96 if he would. I honestly dunno what would happen, because there wasn’t a case for this before. I certainly hope it’ll be 96, so we’ll have on very good, insane POTM card for Karim the dream. He’d be somewhat similar to Lewa cards, but I think a lot of people would enjoy really high rated Benz.
Chances of POTM: 50%
Tips for investing:
Pricing Benz POTM is hard, so is investing. Lately fodder been too expensive and nothing better than investing in Fodder for POTMs like this. Overall, if fodder would drop – I’d recommend investing in it, not only for POTM, but overall for content.
Worth investing? I’ve explained above.
Estimated cost: 250k400k. His 92 IF is 160k at the moment on both consoles. His Headliner – 375k or around so. If he’ll be 94 – it’s around 250k or so. If he’s 96 – it’s around 400k.That’s just my opinion.
Leo Messi is another choice for POTM. Welp. Messi had even better March than February. Yes, it’s possible. 9.0 rating on average. 4 goals and 4 assists in 3 games. Overall numbers out of this world. Barca in total played sensational football this month and Messi was main instrument of it. He’d win back to back POTM, like in previous FUT, if he actually gets an award.
In terms of FUT – even better POTM than previous one. 97 rated CF, nearly TOTY level, some stats will be already maxed out. What I have to say – it’s POTM Messi. A lot of people completed his first one, a lot of people would complete this one too. I’d probably be one of those people.
Chances of POTM: 50%
Tips for investing:
Pricing Messi isn’t that hard, and investing too. It’s just fodder world and we live in it. Fodder drops during promo or some gap of content – get your fodder and you’ll get coins. Simple world of FUT trading in 2021.
Worth investing?I’ve explained above.
Estimated cost: 2.2 million? His first one is around 1.9k. This one should be a bit more expensive, but not that much. I think it shouldn’t be repeat of FUT 20, when his 2nd POTM costed some insane value, so that’s why I price him at 2.2. Maybe 2.5. MAYBE. MAYBE EVEN 3.
I think it’ll be really close race between Benzema and Messi. I think it’s really close, maybe stats don’t prove that, but both players should win for different reasons. Your vote will probably count, so vote wisely. I’d probably vote for Benz, as a lot of people completed first Messi and would feel really bad if we’d get 2nd POTM straight after first one and wouldn’t have an option to upgrade. Just my 2 cents.
