FIFA 21: Player of the Month Prediction - Bundesliga August POTM
Well, well, well. August is over and it’s time for POTMs. I honestly don’t know if we’ll get first POTM for FUT 22 for August or last in FUT 21, but nevertheless we should get him.
In this article we discussing first month of Bundesliga. As per usual – Bundesliga delivered. 3 game days, but all 3 were exciting and high scoring ones. I have 3 main candidates for an award, but I’ll start with 3 more players, who I think can get nominated, but have close to 0 chance at award.
As I don’t know when we’ll get POTM SBC – I’ll be using FUT 21 ratings, so don’t be mad if you’ll think that it’ll be useless card. Yeah, I know that.
First one I have is Joshua Kimmich. Bayern overall had a nice month. Out of 3 games they won 2 and drew 1 more, they also won Super Cup, but I’m not including it in this article. They played 1-1 versus Borussia Monchengladbach and mainly because of Sommer they didn’t win it, but then they won 2 in a row: 3-2 vs Koln and 5-0 vs Hertha. Koln game was frustrating, but showed Bayern character as they were winning 2-0, but then in 2 minutes conceded 2 goals and then scored a winner. Josh played important part this month with 2 assists: vs Gladbach and vs Koln. He didn’t get anything in game vs Hertha, but it shouldn’t matter much. If he’ll get nominatedwin – he’d be 93 rated card in FUT 21 (I don’t know about ratings in FUT 22) and would cost around 50k to complete his SBC, I think.
Next up I have Koen Casteels. Wolfsburg is the only team that won 3 games out of 3 and they are sitting at the top of the table with 9 points. They scored 4 and conceded only 1 goal and one of main reasons for that is Koen Casteels. He continues his great form from last season.and continues to be very consistent. If he’d get nominated and win – he’d be 87 rated card and would cost around 10k or so. They played vs Bochum: 1-0, 2-1 win over Hertha and 1-0 win over Leipzig.
Third in line is Andrej Kramaric from Hoffenheim. Hoffeinheim started season fun: 1 win, 1 loss and 1 draw, 8 goals scored and 5 conceded. Kramaric played an important role for Hoffenheim with 4 assists: 3 of them came vs Augsburg in 4-0 win, 1 was in 2-2 draw versus Union Berlin. He was quiet versus BVB and Hoffenheim lost 3-2, but still that shouldn’t matter and he should get nominated. Potential 88 rated card and would be around 15k. Still have no idea how he didn’t get a special card of the summer or at least TOTS. He deserved it a lot.
Let’s move to 3 main candidates, shall we? Florian Kainz is first in this list: Koln miraculously survived last season and this year they started season pretty well: 2 wins in 3 games and only loss was vs Bayern and it was really close. Kainz was a main man in a win over Hertha (3-1 win): 2 goals, and also got an assist vs Bochum to win 2-1. Both games were important, because it seems like both teams will be rivals for survival in Bundesliga this season.
Chances of POTM: 20%
Kainz would be one of the cheapest POTMs, his card would be… 84 rated and basically would worth nothing at this stage of FUT.
Next one is Erling Haland. Haland won multiple POTMs in FUT 21 already and looking to land one last in FUT 21 or first in FUT 22. He started season well, with 2 goals and 2 assist vs Eintracht Frankfurt, but then slowed down a bit, had a quiet game vs Freiburg, which BVB lost and scored a winner in a game vs Hoffenheim. As per usual he got a lot of praise from pundits and should at least get nominated. If he’ll win – he’ll get 92 rated card, and would cost around 70k.
Chances of POTM: 40%
He has a high chance of winning, especially when we have a big % of fan voting in Bundesliga and Haland one of the most popular players in the league.
And the last one, who I think should win the award – Lewandowski. Lewa scored 5 goals in 3 games, scoring in every Bundesliga game this season so far and breaking another record (of scoring in consecutive games in Bundesliga). 1 goal vs Gladbach, 1 goal vs Koln and 3 goals vs Hertha. No assists to his name, but still very nice record. If he’ll win – he’d get 95 rated card in FUT 21 and I still have no idea how he only got 1 POTM in FUT 21.
Chances of POTM: 40%
I’d give him also 40% of chance for POTM, because it seems like he’s not as popular as Haland in fan votes, but his record of goals should play a big part. Also if other Bayern player will get nominated – it’ll lower chances of Lewa winning an award.
Very fun month of Bundesliga and if we’ll get a POTM – it should be a very good one and high rated one.
