FIFA 16 Team of the Week Predictions: Week 1
It’s that time of the year again, time for the first TOTW of a new FIFA! And this week’s prediction features a player or two I have a feeling a few of you will be excited about…
What can I say that hasn’t already been said?
… about Cristiano Ronaldo. In a way, five goals and one assist in a single 90 minutes speaks for itself, but I’m afraid I need to write something a little more wordy than just that. The title race between Barcelona and Real Madrid this year is going to be incredible, and that’s without bringing Atletico Madrid or even Valencia, who are represented in this week’s prediction by third choice goalkeeper Jaume, into the equation. Real’s Gareth Bale seems back to his best after putting in another fantastic performance at the weekend in his new position, while both Neymar and Lionel Messi got on the score-sheet as Barca came from behind to beat Atleti in Madrid.
Goals, Goals, Goals!
As well as Cristiano’s five, there were a grand total of 35 other goals scored by outfield players this week. Fernando Uribe was responsible for four of them after scoring all of Toluca’s goals in a 4-3 win and Steven Naismith scored a hat-trick for Everton against Chelsea as various records tumbled. Six others registered trebles this week, including Alexander Meier who was named as the Bundesliga Player of the Week after Eintracht Frankfurt’s 6-2 win over FC Cologne; the other 5 players that scored hat-tricks all sit on the substitutes bench this week!
