FIFA 16 Team of the Week Prediction: Week 30

Reasonably happy with 13/23 from the notoriously tricky international week, which has gotten even trickier since EA decided to include international friendlies. Club football is back this week though and I’m feeling confident of a good score!

Braziliant!

The Brazilian national team is struggling; if only Dunga could take some inspiration from this week’s TOTW Prediction! Brazil have five representatives in my team, including some very famous faces. And where better to begin than with one of the most famous of them all? Kaka made his first start of the 2016 MLS season this weekend and was quick to make an impact, scoring once and assisting two more as Orlando City swept aside Portland Timbers 4-1. David Luiz and Hulk are the other two seasoned Brazilian internationals in my prediction; the former had a hand in two of Paris-Saint Germain’s four goals in a comfortable win over Nice, whilst the latter scored twice as Zenit overcame rivals CSKA Moscow.

Finally, Shakhtar Donetsk are renowned for their Brazilians and two of them were on fire as Shakhtar took apart Metalist Kharkiv. Taison took the headlines, scoring a hat-trick and assisting two more goals, however a favourite of FIFAs gone-by, Marlos, also was in fine form. The former Sao Paulo man scored once and managed a hat-trick of assists as his side put EIGHT past a struggling Metalist.

Down to the wire

Appears to be how the Barclays Premier League is going to go this season. 18th place Sunderland would’ve been looking to register a win over mid-table West Bromwich Albion, however the Baggies are notoriously hard to beat, and this resilience showed through as they battled to a 0-0 draw against the Black Cats. Goalkeeper Ben Foster was the star man, making seven saves. Meanwhile, Sunderland’s arch-rivals Newcastle travelled to fellow strugglers Norwich.

It was 17th vs 19th at Carrow Road and it was a match which did not disappoint. Aleksander Mitrovic thought he’d claimed a key point for Newcastle, after scoring in the 71st and 86th minutes to level the scores twice, however Norwich’s left-back Martin Olsson struck late to snatch three points for the Canaries. Neither of the aforementioned names are in my prediction though as I’ve opted for Timm Klose. Norwich signed the big Swiss centre-half from the Bundesliga in January and he looks to be a signing that could keep them up; he scored the first of Norwich’s three goals against Newcastle and was named MOTM in the crucial six-pointer.

Enjoy Folks! #PACKPARTY
