FIFA 16 Team of the Week Prediction: Week 29
Tricky week this week, it being a mixture of World Cup qualifiers, AFCON qualifiers, international friendlies and league matches. I’d be happy with a par 14-15 / 23, but we shall see!
International football’s next super-power?
Well, probably not, however Algerian footballers are having one hell of a season. With the likes of Ghoulam, Feghouli, Mahrez, Brahimi and Slimani in the side, you would’ve expected Algeria to make easy work of Ethiopia. And they did. Very easy work. Four of the five aforementioned players could make this week’s Team of the Week; left back Faouzi Ghoulam and hit-man Islam Slimani registered two assists and two goals respectively. However, I’ve gone for Valencia’s Sofiane Feghouli and Premier League Player of the Season Riyad Mahrez in my prediction this week. The former netted two goals from attacking midfield and would be a very desirable players at CAM in FIFA16, whilst Mahrez was influential throughout and assisted four of his countries seven goals!
A winner from the most unlikely of sources
I don’t what the odds where on Gabriel Mercado to score a scissor kick for Argentina against Chile, however they must’ve been astronomical. The River Plate right back was making only his third start for his country, this one against the reigning South America Champions; Chile of course beat Argentina in the final of the Copa America last year. Chile had initially gone 1-0 up through Felipe Gutierrez, however goals from Angel di Maria and the aforementioned Mercado ensured that La Albiceleste left Santiago with a crucial three points in their bid to quality for the 2018 World Cup.
Enjoy Folks! #PACKPARTY
