FIFA 16 Team of the Week Prediction: Week 26
Managed a disappointing 13/23 last week. Meh. That’s it really, lets hope for better this week!
MLS is back!
And the first round of matches produced a pretty impressive 36 goals! So, as you’d expect, there are a couple of attacking inclusions from MLS in my prediction this week. The first of which is Montreal Impact’s attacking midfielder Ignacio Piatti. The skilful Argentine was a key part of San Lorenzo’s Copa Libertadores winning side back in 2014 and has impressed since joining the Canadian side as a DP. Montreal took on their native rivals the Vancouver Whitecaps on Sunday evening and Piatti was the star of the show, scoring twice, including one brilliant solo effort, and assisting speed demon Dominic Oduro shortly before half-time.
The other MLS inclusion in my side this week is Mike Magee, who LA Galaxy re-signed from Chicago Fire after an injury-hit spell. He marked his return to the West coast with an outstanding display, coming on as a half-time substitute with his side 1-0 down and turning the game on it’s head. He set up one, before scoring twice himself to ensure Galaxy came away from their first game with a comfortable 4-1 win.
How many hat-tricks?!
This week has been one of those weeks where you think you’ve shortlisted everyone until, oh look, someone else has scored a hat-trick. As far as I’m aware,10 players in total this week netted trebles, however, of course, it’s not possible for me to include them all. I feel the best place to begin is with Athletic Bilbao’s Aritz Aduriz, who is so far having an incredible season, having netted 30 goals in 40 appearances. His 28th, 29th and 30th goals came against Deportivo as he scored a treble in a 4-1 victory. Ja-Cheol Koo’s hat-trick came in a more dramatic game; his side FC Augsburg were 3-0 up thanks to the Korean, however, Bayer Leverkusen battled back to draw the game 3-3 with a Calhanoglu late penalty. Finally, Bruno Fornaroli who has been lighting up the A-League this season with some fantastic performances. His third goal in a 3-0 win over Sydney FC was also his 20th of the season and, after a recent upgrade, Fornaroli’s item on FUT is likely to be a very desirable one amongst our audience down under.
Enjoy Folks! #PACKPARTY
