FIFA 16 Team of the Week Prediction: Week 23
Disappointing total last week, however it was my decision to exclude midweek fixtures from my prediction and it turned out to be a mistake. Oh well, let’s hope we can bounce back with TOTW23!
Goalscoring defenders!
They make my life a lot easier, so I send my thanks to Papy Djilobodji, Stipe Vucur, Aden Flint and Michael Lang. Djilobodji, who recently was loaned to Werder Bremen after a bizarre spell at Chelsea, has settled into Bundesliga life relatively well. Barring the disastrous result against Borussia Monchengladbach, he’s performed well and arguably put in his best performance yet against Hoffenheim this week; a MOTM display which included finding the net in a 1-1 draw. Austrian centre-back Vucur scored Kaiserlauten’s first and fourth goals in an easy victory over SC Paderborn, whilst Aden Flint added to his impressive goalscoring record in a much needed 2-1 victory over Ipswich. Finally, Basel made light work of Zurich rivals Grasshopper Club, which right back Lang netting twice in a 4-0 victory.
6-1
…is how many special, non TOTY items Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi will possibly have come Wednesday. It’s incredible to think that the little Argentine is yet to pick up a Team of the Week item on FIFA 16, however it’s more than likely that this will change this week. Why? Because of the other “6-1” you presumed the subheading was about. It was a masterclass from Barcelona, as they dismantled Celta Vigo. It’s almost as if I don’t know where to start; I could begin with Messi’s outstanding free-kick which opened the scoring, *that* penalty which made me wee myself a little, or even Neymar’s outrageous “showboating”. Suarez netted a hat-trick and also assisted both Ivan Rakitic and Neymar, whilst Messi, as well as scoring the opening goal, set up two of Suarez’ three goals.
