FIFA 16 Team of the Week Prediction: Week 13
Happy with scoring a solid 18/23 last week, hopefully we shall be able to achieve that type of score this week too! Not going to lie though, I’m not overly confident about this week…
So, Gary Neville at Mestalla
I could talk about the potential influence of Gary Neville at Mestalla and what it is he needs to achieve for ages, however, unfortunately this is not the place to do this. The Englishman may have not been in charge for Valencia’s 1-1 draw against European Champions Barcelona, however he will have most certainly been buoyed by his side’s spirit. As a fullback himself, he will have especially been pleased the performance of left back Jose Gaya; Valencia’s fullbacks had been suffocated in their recent system and I’m sure the young Spaniard will be looking forward to a change in tactics. He certainly looked up for the challenge on Saturday night too, keeping Lionel Messi relatively quiet and claiming an “8” rating on Marca.
Stoked
That performance from Stoke against Manchester City at the weekend was incredible, they honestly could’ve won by four or five! At the heart of it all was Xherdan Shaqiri, someone who raised a few eyebrows when swapping the black and blue of Inter Milan for the red and white of Stoke in the summer. He’s taken a little while to get going, however, after registering two assists at the weekend, this could be the start of the little Swiss maestro showing us what he can do. On the end of both of Shaqiri’s passes was Marko Arnautovic, who really could’ve add three or four in the end. His performance was excellent regardless and both Xherdan and Marko are fully deserving of places in this week’s team of the week.
Oi, Dunga!
Should Thiago Silva be in the Brazil squad? I think so. Lots of people think so. Dunga however, clearly not so sure. Lets hope he’s been watching Paris Saint Germain and more specifically Thiago Silva over the past week, as the PSG captain has been in rock solid form at the heart of the French Ligue 1 league leader’s defence. Two tricky away games, including one to second place Angers SCO, awaited PSG over the last seven days, however the came through them with flying colours, claiming two clean sheets, and Thiago Silva was at the heart of it all.
Enjoy Folks! #PACKPARTY
