We are into the new year now in FC24 and the first promo of 2024 is FC Versus. FC Versus releases two versions of each player into packs: Fire and Ice. Both items have different upgrades from each other with some cards having one version with 5 skills and the other with a 5* weak foot.

God Tier:

Neymar Jr (Fire)- I think what sets the two Neymar cards is the fact that the fire version of Neymar is now a striker. With this, he also has much better shooting including 93 positioning and 90 long shots. Having this to go along with 5* 5* is just sensational. Oh, and did I mention his name was Neymar?

Neymar Jr(Ice)- This version is definitely more suited as a winger due to his increased pace of 91 and his insane 97 dribbling. Neymar is comfortably one of the best players in the game, so he’s going to be expensive guaranteed. Along with him being 5* 5*, he has Flair PlayStyle+ along with the Trivela, Trickster and Technical PlayStyles. Another brilliant card.

Heung Min Son (Fire)- Son gets another 2 special cards with this fire version allowing him to play ST, CF, RM and RW. However, he’s best as a striker as he has the Finesse+ PlayStyle. Son’s shooting stats are incredible and they’re backed up by a 5* weak foot, so expect him to score a lot.

Heung Min Son (Ice)- A new position here for Son as he as now a CAM as well as having his original positions of LM and LW. However, this card is probably best suited as a striker as well, but he isn’t as good as his fire version. Saying this, this Son card is still fantastic. 90 pace, 91 shooting and 88 dribbling makes a really good card.

Very Good:

Sergio Ramos (ICE)- This is definitely the better version of Ramos as this ice version has Anticipate+. His stats are more well-rounded and he can pretty much play anywhere including centre-back. I’m sure he will be expensive because Ramos has always been a desired card, but he’s still a very good card

Decent:

Sergio Ramos (Fire)- I know this card is expensive, but from just looking at his stats, he isn’t worth the 600k that he is currently going for. Yes, it is Sergio Ramos, who has always been a favourite, but he doesn’t have unreal stats. Saying this, his stats are decent with 80 pace, 87 defending and 85 physical.

Marta (Fire)- This card is 100% better than his ice card. Marta has 4 more pace, the same shooting, 1 less shooting but 2 more dribbling. However, this version is now a right winger. I wouldn’t recommend playing her as a right-winger as she isn’t the quickest, but in-game as a CAM she’s good.

Marta (ICE)- Marta can now play CF and ST as well her original CAM position. The ice version is slower than the fire version, but she is still not a half bad card. Marta has 88 shooting, 90 passing and 91 dribbling along with a 4* weak foot and 5* skills. However, the fire version is better for sure.

Kieran Trippier (Fire)- Due to use of attacking full-backs this year, Trippier’s fire card is a brilliant option as a right-back. He’s got decent pace, really nice dribbling and exceptional passing and defending stats. He also has the Whipped Pass PlayStyle+, meaning his crosses from the right side will be deadly.

Kieran Trippier (Ice)- I don’t mind this card whatsoever. Trippier as a CM is something different and a nice addition to the promo squad. He’s got Long Ball Pass+ and Whipped Pass PlayStyles and some really nice stats especially in his passing.

Eduardo Camavinga (Ice)- This is a really nice upgrade for Camavinga from his base card. I used Camavinga for a long time at the start of the game, so I’m a big fan of this card. He’s got some decent stats and his dribbling stats are really nice for a defensive midfielder. Camavinga also has 7 PlayStyles and 1 PlayStyle+ which is Press Proven+.

Eduardo Camavinga (Fire)- Camavinga’s fire card is now his base card’s alternate position of left-back. As an attacking full-back, he’s really impressive. Camavinga has really well-rounded stats and the Aerial+ PlayStyles which will be super useful when defending those back post crosses.

Roberto Firmino (Fire)- Definitely the better version of the two, Firminio is now a central midfielder with some really enticing stats. He has 5* skills and a 4* weak foot to go with his really well-rounded stats. With the right chem style, I don’t see why you shouldn’t give this guy a go.

Dayot Upamecano (ICE)- This is basically a +1 upgrade from his in-from with the addition of the Intercept+ PlayStyle. Upamecano has 87 pace, 86 dribbling and 87 physical which is brilliant. He also has decent agility and balance for a centre-back. I’m sure he’ll be a rock at the back.

Dayot Upamecano (Fire)- Upamencano’s fire version is a right-back and I’m a fan. He now has 89 pace which is superb and has decent dribbling stats. If you wanted a defensive minded right-back to go with an attacking left-back, Upamecano is a great shout.

Meh:

Marco Asensio (Fire)- Asensio’s fire version is much better than his ice version due to the upgraded pace and the addition of 5* skills. He is also now a winger which is a nice change, but some stats are massively lacking. His dribbling and finishing stats are underwhelming but he does have the Finesse Shot+ PlayStyle which is great.

Leonardo Spinazzola (Fire)- On the face of the card you would say he doesn’t look half bad, but when you take a deeper look into his stats, you can see why he is nearly min price. A major flaw is his 73 stamina which instantly kills any hope of him being an attacking full-back. The addition of 5* skills is quite cool though. This card has positioned changed to a right-back also.

Leonardo Spinazzola (Ice)- Again the stamina kills this card straight away. Defensively, he’s much better than his fire version, but Spinazzola just isn’t a good left-back. When you have the likes of Theo Hernandez available, I don’t see why you would use him.

Roberto Firmino (ICE)- Even though his fire version is a centre-mid, I feel like this card is suited as a midfielder rather than a striker. As a striker, he is too slow and doesn’t have amazing finishing. Considering his other card is much better, I can’t see this version being used much.

Fodder:

Lukas Hradecky (Fire)- Not too sure why a goalkeeper was needed for this promo, but Hradecky was always going to be fodder. There’s nothing special about this card and he’s just another ordinary goalkeeper.

Lukas Hradecky (Ice)- Again, there’s no other tier that he would go into. He’ll sit at 88 fodder price because he isn’t desirable at all.

Morata (Fire)- This card is a bit behind the power curve for me. Morata’s agility and balance aren’t great and his shooting stats don’t amaze me. Maybe with a decent chemistry style he’ll become an okay striker, but I reckon I’ll give this card a pass.

Morata (Ice)- Again, this card doesn’t blow me away. He’s arguably worse than his fire version but admittedly, his shooting looks to be much better. Still, I’d steer well clear because there is much better strikers available.

Marco Asensio (ICE)- This version is considerably worse than the fire version in my opinion. The only in-game stats that stand out to me are his 92 shot power and 91 long shots because apart from that, he is very average.

Armand Lauriente (ICE)- Another card here that feels like it is 2 or 3 months too late. Lauriente doesn’t impress me in the slightest and in all honestly, this could be the worst card of the promo

Armand Lauriente (Fire)- This is better than his Ice card, but again Lauriente is still not very good. The 78 agility instantly puts me off this card and his shooting still isn’t great at all.

Moussa Sissoko (ICE)- 3 or 4 years ago, both Sissoko’s card would have been super expensive, but nowadays he’s not brilliant. His pace split is odd with 88 sprint speed but 70 acceleration. Sissoko will also be very heavy in game due to his poor agility and balance.

Moussa Sissoko (Fire)- The same negatives apply to this card to be honest. Even though his defensive stats are better, they still aren’t luring me into using him. It feels like the hype of Moussa Sissoko special cards are a thing of the past.

Dani Olmo (Fire)- Even with the 5* skills that he has been given, this is a bad card. He’s slow, has bad shooting and his physicals are awful. He does have nice dribbling stats, but this doesn’t override the negatives in this card.

Dani Olmo (Ice)- And this card is even worse. The pace split is horrendous as Olmo has 67 sprint speed. He’ll be sat fodder price and it is completely understandable why.
