FC 26 Patch Notes - October 2nd 2025
EA SPORTS has released FC 26 Title Update 1.0.3, now available on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch 1, and PC (with Nintendo Switch 2 versions coming soon). This update brings important gameplay tweaks, bug fixes, and stability improvements across multiple modes, including Ultimate Team, Career Mode, and general performance upgrades. Lets take a look at it :)
Gameplay Updates
The biggest changes in FC 26 v1.0.3 focus on improving kick-off defensive positioning and balancing attacking mechanics:
- Kick-Off Positioning: Defending teams will now sit more compactly immediately after kick-off to prevent easy attacking opportunities. Player positions have also been updated across all formations.
- Acrobatic Shots: The accuracy of acrobatic attempts following a Rainbow Flick has been reduced.
- Trivela Shots: Fixed an issue where players would shoot a trivela directly at the keeper instead of attempting a lace shot.
These adjustments aim to make gameplay more balanced and realistic, especially at the start of matches.
Many players complained about the “kick off glitch” in FC26 and have done in previous years, EA have finally publicly addressed this issue and have made the adjustments to try to “fix” the “kick off glitch” by improving defensive teams positioning at kick off.
There was an overpowered shot selection where if you done a rainbow flick and hit it on the volley it would increase its chances of resulting as a goal, this has apparently been reduced.
With shots, you might notice sometimes your players would take the shot with the wrong intended foot, they have fixed the issue where this would happen, hopefully resulting in more consistent shot choices.
Ultimate Team Fixes
EA has resolved several key FUT 26 issues:
- Fixed an issue where incorrect bios appeared on Gold Player Items.
- Players with the Ultimate Edition can now claim the Season 1 Premium Pass without needing to restart the game.
Some players online claimed they couldn’t claim their season 1 premium pass due to a bug, it seems this bug has been solved alongside the incorrect bios on gold player items, which helps when wanting to find out the correct information about your player items.
Career Mode Fix
- Addressed a frustrating issue where players could act unhappy after signing a new contract, triggering false notifications about missing offers and even leading to unwanted transfer requests.
Well lets be honest, none of us want our players being upset over signing a new contract, i mean, we gave you a super contract for a reason, celebrate it…and most definitely don’t submit a transfer request :(
General, Audio, and Visual Updates
This patch also brings a number of technical improvements, particularly for PC players:
- Fixed some cases where controllers stopped responding during gameplay.
- Resolution and display settings no longer reset after closing the game.
- Optimized cloth physics and improved performance during corner kicks.
- Fixed invite-related lobby issues in showcase matches.
- Various stability improvements across platforms.
