FC 24 Fire and Ice Kingsley Coman Player Review

Similar to last week, this week’s player review is going to be on both the FC Versus fire and ice versions as I took Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman’s new special cards into FC24’s weekend league. I played 10 games of champs with each card and here’s how they got on

It was back to normal for me this weekend as I missed out on 14 wins again going 13-7. After last week’s triumph of getting to 16 wins, I was hoping to have done better, but it wasn’t to be the case, as I was 6-4 after the first 10 games with Coman’s ice version. I attempted a comeback but finished 7-3 with Coman’s fire version.

Formation and Tactics Used:

For all of my games I followed FUWIZ Mark 11’s custom tactics for the 4-3-2-1 which can be found here: https://www.futwiz.com/en/fc24-tutorial/4321-custom-tactics

Coman Ice Version (RW)

My team:

Coman’s Instructions (RW)- Stay Central, Get In Behind, Come Back On Defence.

Coman played on the right this weekend and was my attacker that would come back and defend for the tactics I used. Overall, I wasn’t impressed with his performance this weekend due to the fact that he only managed to get 1 goal and 1 assist in the 10 games that he played.

Positives:

-His dribbling was very good and the addition of Coman having 5* skill moves was very useful. Coman has 95 agility, 90 ball control and 91 dribbling which is excellent for a right-winger. Bar composure, all Coman’s in-game dribbling stats are above 87.

-The Frenchman is very fast and uses his pace really well to beat defenders with his acceleration. Coman has 95 acceleration and 89 sprint speed which makes him a very quick winger. He also has the Quick Step and Rapid PlayStyles which allows you to furthermore use his pace to beat your opponent.

Negatives:

-Coman’s shooting was extremely unreliable and he missed a lot of big chances. Even though his shooting stats are decent with 82 finishing and 80 long shots, he missed a lot of key chances for me including a few 1 on 1s.

-The 3* weak foot that Coman has was evident and his shooting on his left foot was really bad. I wasn’t confident when shooting on his left, so I always tried to get the ball onto his right foot which was obvious and my opponent could defend it easily.

My team:

Coman’s Instructions (LW): Stay Central, Get In Behind.

With this version of Coman being a left-winger, I thought I would switch my tactics and leave Coman up front when defending. This was definitely a more positive change as fire Coman had a much more impressive performance grabbing himself 10 goals and 3 assists which is a massive improvement.

Positives:

-Similar to his Ice version, his dribbling was fantastic. This card has better dribbling, so I used that to my advantage, and he was great on the wing. Having the option to do any skill moves with Coman’s 5* skills was a brilliant tool to having and I really enjoyed performing the elastico with him.

-I think this might have been to the position he was playing, but he scored 9 more goals than his Ice version, meaning I felt a lot more confident when shooting with him. To be fair, he still did miss a few good chances, but the goals he did score Coman took very well.

-Because Coman has the Relentless+ PlayStyle, he never ran out of stamina, and he could comfortably play 90 and sometimes even 120 minutes. This was very useful as it allowed me to use my subs elsewhere and I didn’t have to worry about Coman’s fitness.

Negatives:

-Since both cards are quite similar, some of the negatives are the same including again the fact that Coman has a 3* weak foot. Not having the ability to cut in and finesse and instead always have to shoot across the keeper or attempt a trievla was really predictable for my opponent to defend against.

-The fire version does have better physicals than Coman’s ice version, but he still didn’t feel strong and got barged off the ball a lot. Coman has 78 strength and 53 aggression which is very poor. Defenders such as Virgil Van Dijk, which a lot of people have, easily pushed Coman off the ball.

Verdict:

If I had to choose between the two versions of Coman I would go with his Fire version as I found him to be consistent and a better threat when going forward. However, I was quite unimpressed with both versions and would recommend looking at other wingers. Some other wingers which I have found to be better are fire or ice Moussa Diaby or if you are looking for a more expensive option, I would recommend RTTK Ousmane Dembele or TOTGS Bukayo Saka.
