94 Flashback Kevin De Bruyne has been released, and it’s a big one! At first glance, he looks like one of the best CMs in the game, but, as expected, he comes with a hefty price tag. Let’s break down the most efficient way to complete his SBC.

The Cost

This SBC is priced at a massive 1,817,400 coins and requires 20 squads to complete. As expected, this represents a significant coin investment, and with the sheer number of squads required, it’s also a substantial time commitment.

Here’s the breakdown on the cards you’ll need to complete the various squads for this SBC:

  • 3x TOTW cards
  • 15x 90-rated cards
  • 20x 89-rated cards
  • 50x 88-rated cards
  • 66x 87-rated cards
  • A mix of 83-rated to 86-rated cards.

As you can see, this SBC is no small feat. With numerous expensive cards required, it’s unlikely you’ll have enough in your club already. Committing to this SBC will almost certainly mean a significant coin investment.

Breaking Down the Squads

You will need to complete twenty squads, here’s a quick look at what each individual squad requires:

Manchester City: You’ll need an 85 rated squad, with a TOTW and a player from Manchester City.

Premier League: You’ll need an 86 rated squad, with a player from the Premier League.

86-Rated Squad: You’ll need two 86 rated squads.

Top Form: You’ll need an 86 rated squad, with a TOTW.

87-Rated Squad: You’ll need four 87 rated squads.

87-Rated Squad (TOTW): You’ll need an 87 rated squad, with a TOTW.

88-Rated Squad: You’ll need five 88 rated squads.

89-Rated Squad: To finish, you’ll five 89 rated squads.

You’ve got about 30 days to complete this SBC, which isn’t a lot compared to icon SBCs that typically give you around nine weeks. That said, if you’re starting this SBC, you’ll likely want to complete it as quickly as possible to get him into your team. Given how game-changing he can be, the limited time frame becomes less of a concern in that context.

Is it worth it?

Now, let’s talk about value. The 94-rated Flashback De Bruyne SBC is priced at around 1.8 million coins, which is definitely on the expensive side. However, when you compare him to other top-tier CMs on the market, his value becomes clearer. He’s one of the best in the game, and top-tier players always come with a hefty price tag. So, while the cost is high, you’re paying for an elite player who can elevate your team.

This card genuinely has everything you could possible want from a CM, he has two of the best passing PlayStyle+, with the best CM Roles, he has 5* weak foot and incredible attributes, so you can see why he is one of the best about.

There isn’t really a downside to this SBC. Yes, he’s expensive, and yes, there are 20 squads to complete, but that’s the price you pay for a player of this caliber. Given his all-around attributes and the fact that he’s one of the best CMs in the game, his price point is actually quite fair.

The one outside factor with this SBC is that EA has given everyone a free 90-rated Zidane, with the option to upgrade him to 94 if you played before October. This means you can get a 94-rated Zidane for free, who is incredible, making it hard to justify spending 1.8m on a CM when you can get a comparable option for free. Personally, I think De Bruyne is better, but is he worth the 1.8m difference? Not sure.

If you remove Zidane from the equation, this SBC is definitely worth completing. You’ll be getting one of the best CMs in the game. Yes, it comes with a hefty price, but you’re not going to find elite-tier players for cheap.
