Best Meta Players In FC 26 - Pro Edition

Pope being the most used goalkeeper in the fc pro open cups is no surprise as he has everything you need in a goalkeeper. Great chemistry links with a popular nation and league. Footwork to stop those low drivens and far reach to stop the finesses inside the box is really helpful. Cross claimer is a big must for stopping the META corners people be whipping in. By far my favorite keeper in FC 26 so far.

Casillas being the second most used goalkeeper is no surprise here given the need to get chemistry all round the team an ICON is always a massive plus. The same reasons as pope, him having footwork playstyle+ helps counter the META low drivens alongside having far reach in silver makes it a harder task to bang them finesses by him.

Tim Howard comes in at 3rd most used mainly because of chem reasons and having footwork silver. Watching emre yilmaz use him in the qualifier you can see why some people opted to use him, he flies off the line at lightning speed aswell which is always good for a goalkeeper.

When looking for a full back in FC 26 you look for a few things, first thing being pace which llorente has, this is helpful when defending the space behind for them through balls, he’s an item which can kind of “do it all” so if you want to get forward with him you have the ability to do so, you can understand why he is a popular card among the pro players.

A few people might be surprised seeing Valverde playing right back if you don’t watch much FC Pro gameplay but after using him you’ll soon see the reason why. Defensively he is incredible. He also had long ball silver which helps for the long diags across the pitch which is in line with the current meta.

Kounde is a Solid option at right back, lacks small bit of pace but makes up for it in defensive stability. Being french and playing in the la liga will help squad building when it comes to chemistry.

Alvaro Carreras is one which might surprise a few people instead of the usual mendes/theo hernandez. He don’t have bruiser but if you go into a 50 with this guy, he is likely coming out as the winner. Great pace at covering spaces in behind alongside important defensive playstyles. Some would argue he is the best LB on the game right now.

Nuno Mendes coming in at 2nd most used is no surprise given his META card, alongside the fact he gives chemistry to other META PSG players which feature in pro teams, the quick step helps him get up and down the pitch joining attacks and also stopping those dangerous counters.

Coming in at 3rd place is a tie between two top level Left backs in theo and balde. Both great options for different reasons but the one thing they both have in common like the other full backs in this list is PACE!! One of the most important things is having the ability to go from attack into defense and quickly cover any threat of a counter attack. Having someone with Pace and relevant playstyles to defend is important. Explaining why these two make the “top 3”.

Militao being number 1 used CB should not be a surprise, given the current META with double tap passes its really important to have a defender with the intercept playstyle and the fact he has it in + alongside great chem links and nice defensive playstyles makes him the perfect option for CB in pros teams.

Some might be surprised to not see Stam take the number 1 spot, even though he does not have intercept he is still one of the most popular for multiple reasons. Big body, dominant in the air defensively and offensively for set pieces and an absolute beast in 1v1 duals making him an obvious option for pros.

Is there much to say why Van De Ven is in pro teams? With this card and his TOTW being third most popular it kind of explains where we are at. If you’re looking for someone who will cover your high line from being attacked by through balls in behind, he is the best option for you, the pace this man has is ridiculous, alongside that has some nice defensive playstyles and also is solid in the air.

There was only ever going to be one man taking the number 1 spot and that’s Mbappe. He’s everything you want in a winger, he has electrifying pace, finesse shot and low driven for when he enters them dangerous areas to be clinical. Absolute no brainer using him on the left.

Coming in at 2nd place is Leao, for similar reasons to Mbappe, he has the skills, he has the pace and also has finesse+ and low driven for when getting into them dangerous areas. Incisive+ is an underrated playstyle on his card and helps when creating attacks and trying to get in behind with them defense breaking passes.

Reijnders being the most popular is no surprise given his many strengths. All rounded card which gives flexibility when building teams. Tiki taka playstyle+ being an important factor for quick passes moving up the pitch alongside the ability to ping a through ball by having the incisive playstyle. His Finesse shot also gives a different angle when getting involved in attacking play and finds himself among the goals quite a lot.

Frenkie De Jong coming in at 2nd place makes sense, him and Reijnders have been the go to duo for CMs since the beginning of the game. Both having tiki taka+ Helps out when wanting to keep a quick fluid game with less errors when making them passes which break down an opposition team.

Bonmati takes the number 1 spot and i cant say i’m surprised by this. She has it all, the 3 most important playstyles when it comes to passing with Tiki Taka, Incisive and Pinged allowing her to be the creator everyone needs, Having Low driven playstyle helps when creeping into those goalscoring situations where she will find herself in. Technical+ allowing her to create space from tight areas.

Zico being 2nd most popular in the CAM position makes sense to me, he was never going to be number 1 for the reason being he is way too many coins, coming in at around 4 million it takes up alot of budget when building these teams. He has a brilliant card and utilizing finesse+ is really a strong point when getting into the final third and a great option to have. Tiki Taka and incisive make him just as dangerous as bonmati when entering the final third.

Dembele is By far the best right sided attacker on the game right now and its not even close. Pace, skill, chemistry, playstyles all come into play when selecting this guy, he has it all. The price is completely warranted and you can see why hes the most popular among the top pros.

Nico williams is an option players have been going for if they’re looking for someone a bit cheaper than your dembeles but still effective. Primarily a pacey winger alongside having finesse playstyle helps him be dangerous in those areas of the pitch when he drifts into the box. I’d argue the one negative is him not having 5* skills but thats deffo a preference thing.

Putting is bluntly, Yamal is an option for players if you cant afford dembele but you have more coins needed for a nico williams, he is the perfect mid point which offers a bit of both from both cards.

Are we really shocked that Pina is the most used striker among all the pros? She has everything you need in a striker apart from the pace, but for some reason that don’t seem the matter when it comes to Pina, from low driven plus to finesse shot to incisive and tiki taka with a sprinkle of technical. She is the number 1 striker in FC 26 right now and i can’t see that changing anytime soon.

With Alex morgan coming in at 2nd, we are seeing a bit of a theme where players are preferring small agile attackers ahead of maybe your more clunky lengthy attackers. She is a more expensive option but also has some solid playstyles with finesse shot+ and low driven also making her a popular option.

Sitting in 3rd place is Leao, me personally i love this option, as mentioned in the LM section, him having multiple top playstyles is a reason why he is popular. The finesse and low driven is a given for any striker but also having incisive helps him be part of the build up and be effective when breaking down defenses on transition. If you’re a 5 star skill lover then this might be an option for you.
